Trudeau to Muslims: quit listening to American "Right Wing" on gender

If only the Muslim parents of Canada would quit listening to the American Right Wing they would fall in love with Canada’s gender ideology teaching in schools.

Uh-huh. Seems likely.

According to Mr. Castro…I mean Trudeau…opposition to Canada’s insane Social and Emotional Learning curriculum is being artificially spread by the American Right Wing through the strategic use of mis- and disinformation. The reality is that there is nothing to see, so move along, move along.

The prime minister suggested the Muslim objections were based on “misinformation and disinformation” and the work of the “American right-wing.”

“First of all, there is an awful lot of misinformation and disinformation out there. People on social media, particularly fuelled by the American right-wing, are spreading a lot of untruths about what’s actually in the provincial curriculums.

“Now if you look at the various curriculums, you’ll see that there is not what is being said out there about aggressive teaching or conversion of kids to being LGBT. That is something that is being weaponized by people who are not doing it because of their interest in supporting the Muslim community,” Trudeau said.

Trudeau also acknowledged that the “Christian right” is also opposed to LGBTQ ideology.

That’s the best he’s got because it is pretty difficult to attack the social conservatism of the Muslim community as “White Supremacy” or any of the myriad socially unacceptable views that are normally thrown out to discredit anything that the Left doesn’t like.

The Left is so used to its pandering to the financial interests and the fears of minority communities that I think it has been something of a surprise to them that they are getting pushback from an unusual direction. If you watch the video Trudeau bashes the Right as Islamophobes. This is a tactic that has worked in the past, but the alphabet ideology push is very concrete, whereas most fears about Islamophobia are notional.

There have been at least multiple protests in Ottawa where Muslims have either joined with Christian allies or led their own rallies to denounce Trudeau. At one, children stomped on the “Pride” flag.

In June, Muslims came to Trudeau’s Langevin office on Wellington St. in Ottawa to demand an end to the LGBTQ indoctrination in schools and for the federal government to put the Canadian flags back on the front of the building where the Progress Pride flag, with rainbows and triangles, now flies.

It’s not just that parents can see what is being done in the schools, but also that the Liberal government incessantly talks about it. That is bound to erode support for the Liberals no matter what Trudeau says in private. You can’t hide the embrace of drag shows for kids and mandatory SEL curricula, and the parent revolt will probably spread beyond Christian and Muslim communities. This is likely the tip of the iceberg.

The more opposition gets normalized, the more it will spring up as people’s fears about being called bigots erode. Christian conservatives are easy to marginalize for moderate voters, but once the opposition spreads outside those communities it will build momentum.

At least I hope so. We are still in the early stages, and unlike gay marriage–which most people think doesn’t affect them–teaching kids they are Queer affects everybody.

The alphabet agenda has enormous momentum itself and will likely continue for a long time, but the backlash is building. It can’t come fast enough.
