Trump Derangement Syndrome started out as a gag, a way for conservatives to explain away the Left's unhinged reaction to all things MAGA.

Roughly a decade later, it's not so funny anymore. Not with the crush of ruined friendships, family strife and political debates that suggest tin foil hattery is now both chic and commonplace.

The medical community should weigh in on the matter.

Still, TDS should fade over time. President Donald Trump will leave the White House for good in 2029, and the Left will find a new politician to become their bogeyman. And the Left will show Strange New Respect for Trump to slam whoever comes in his wake.

Or, they've already found one, someone who has no interest in political office and has given society some of the most amazing tech advances possible.

Elon Musk.

We saw an early glimpse of Elon Derangement Syndrome last year. It started when his awkward hand gesture became proof positive of his Nazi ties. That ignores the fact that Musk is on the spectrum and many politicians have made strikingly similar gestures while addressing the public.

No matter. He's a Nazi. Case closed.

Then, when Musk's DOGE efforts started bearing fruit, radicals began targeting Tesla dealerships. They vandalized vehicles, set fires to dealerships and more. And, naturally, our late-night hosts found it all hysterical.

Next, Oscar-winner Alex Gibney cranked up his far-Left toolkit to make "Musk," a four-hour hit piece/documentary featuring an A.I. version of Musk. That's why he's an Oscar winner. He knows how to stick to severe journalistic principles.

It's also why the film, according to ace reporter Michael Shellenberg, suggests Musk used space lasers to help Trump win in 2024.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter is citing that documentary as proof of how eeee-vil Musk is. Even worse? With the news that Musk is investing $1 billion into Skydance (and maybe more) the EDS will only get worse.

It's already afflicted THR.

Consider this paragraph near the end of an article tied to Musk's investment.

The media were fooled once on Twitter โ€” no way he would buy it, we all said back in 2022 โ€” then quickly found ourselves without a place to park such trenchant commentary. Getting fooled twice would just be shameful.

That's so unhinged it might be certifiably insane.

Musk bought Twitter, rebranded it as X, and released a treasure trove of files (The Twitter Files) showing how the old owners censored, blacklisted and shadow-banned right-leaning users and those who didn't toe the progressive line.

The legacy media, including THR, didn't give a fig about those censorial actions. Nor did it care when social media platforms memory-holed The New York Post's Hunter Biden laptop story, which appeared true at the time and never faced any real attacks on its veracity then or now.

Nothing to see here, move along. THR suggests Musk is censoring journalists.

The mind reels. Then again, EDS is just getting started. This might seem quaint in a few months.
