Media in Panic Mode Over 'Run Hide Fight: Infidels'

Hollywood would never distribute a movie where a student fought back against Columbine-style killers.

Director Kyle Rankin's "Run Hide Fight" (2020) told that very story, and he needed The Daily Wire to bring his revenge thriller to the public. No major studio would touch it.

That captures the cowardice at the heart of Hollywood Inc. We'll tell certain stories in certain ways, thank you. The industry will crank out a dozen movies about lovable hit men, but showing a plucky teen saving her school for armed intruders is a bridge too far.

Hollywood keeps tight control over the kinds of stories to be told.

Pro-life stories? Pass! Tales of Venezuelans struggling under a communist regime? Good luck, and please leave my office immediately.

That explains why Rankin reteamed with The Daily Wire for an explosive new film that's getting attacked, sight unseen, by several press outlets.

"Run Hide Fight: Infidels," out Sept. 16 at DailyWire+, finds a group of red-blooded college students fighting back against Islamic radicals who have infiltrated their campus. It's "Red Dawn" for the 21st century, a film already deemed unacceptable by the L.A. Times.

The far-Left newspaper shared an op-ed tied to the film last month, inspired simply by a provocative teaser trailer. The columnist all but begged for the film to be censored.

Just imagine the columns to be written after they see the film's first official trailer.

The subject matter is controversial, no doubt. It tackles the rise of antisemitism on college campuses, another off-limits topic for liberal Hollywood. And it stars Jonathan Majors, the rising star whose career capsized following abuse allegations.

Majors lost his role as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU and other projects collapsed in the scandal's wake.

The Daily Wire is un-cancelling Majors, and that's a legitimate topic for debate.

That's only one reason why the media is clutching its collective pearls about "Infidels." Storytellers aren't supposed to touch radical Islam and its oft-deadly consequences.

But "infidels" apparently does just that. So the media knives are already out for the film.

The AV Club:

The trailer is what one would expect from Fox News Jr, depicting an America on the cusp of being overtaken by terrorists as brainwashed white college students find themselves in league with ISIS. Frankly, if those kids just stood with Israel and stayed quiet while the country committed what the U.N. declared a genocide, none of this would be happening.

The Playlist:

Anti-Muslim paranoia, anti-Palestinian hysteria, contempt for college students, macho grievance, and militarized revenge fantasies are no longer merely lurking beneath the surface. They are the movie.

Consequence of Sound

The latest film from Ben Shapiro’s  tax write-off Daily Wire movie studio stars Jonathan Majors and concerns radical Islamic terrorists attacking woke college students. The trailer is out now, and it looks awful. I mean it is awful in the sense that it is racist and bigoted and generally disdainful of everyone under the age of 45. But the quality of the film is very much in doubt.

Get the picture?

The Hollywood gatekeepers gleefully prevent true ideological diversity from taking root. Insiders blacklist actors who dare lean to the Right (just ask James Woods) and refuse to greenlight stories that don't align with their progressive worldview.

Why all the teeth gnashing over "infidels," a movie that will only be available to DailyWire+ subscribers? It's simple.

The Left wants to control pop culture, and that firm grasp is slipping. Consider that The Daily Wire's "Am I Racist?" became the most popular documentary in a decade. The right-coded "Sound of Freedom" made more money than "Fast X," "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" and "The Flash" back in 2023.

That's power, and even though most film critics refused to review "Am I Racist" the movie soared all the same.

The subject matter behind "Infidels" also frightens the Left. We cannot discuss the raging antisemitism across the university landscape. Nor can we talk about unfettered immigration or how radical Islam is inserting itself into our political space.

So they must slam the film, sight unseen, declaring it "racist" to merely bring up controversial issues.

The fear is palpable.
