Oh, Dear - It's Little Green Knickers Twitching Time

Don Ryan

You know the climate cultists have been girding their soft, underdeveloped, possibly surgically modified loins for this moment. Still, I don't think all the World of Warcraft battle space prep in the world will help them when reality bites them in their desiccated derrières.

And it looks like it's fixin' to, however manly the public face they are trying to show as the inevitable approaches.

Yeah. Trump's election was a cruel blow.

New Jersey's verminous Governor Phil Murphy held a hound dog toned news conference right after the election and was asked specifically about his offshore wind projects. [at 23:30 in]

"We're committed to working with President Trump wherever we can to advance New Jersey's interests...That's gonna be an interesting one..."

The Republican running to replace Murphy this fall has already thrown the gauntlet about Murphy's Green fever dreams and especially his ruinous offshore wind deals.

In a signal of what the gubernatorial campaign could look like over the next 353 days, Republican Jack Ciattarelli called on Democrats to disavow energy policies championed by Gov. Phil Murphy.

Ciattarelli, who came close to unseating Murphy in 2021, disavowed Murphy’s “pie-in-the-sky” energy policies and proposals. Ciattarelli, for example, pointed to offshore wind projects, which played a central role in the GOP’s 2023 legislative campaigns. The former assemblyman also pledged to end a rule that would bar the sale of gasoline-powered cars in the Garden State by 2035.

...“I can tell you with certainty that if I am elected next November, EV mandates and offshore wind projects are done in New Jersey,” the Republican wrote. “We will instead pursue an all-of-the-above energy policy that includes clean natural gas, nuclear, solar, and other alternative energies once the market deems that they are both affordable and reliable.”

TDS has World Famous Climate Scientists™ joining the stompy-footed X-odus protesting the election of Hitler and Elon's part in it.

Shame to lose such a stable, peace, love, and happiness kinda guy but, as Ebola always says, it is what it is.

And they are what they are.

Today's Bloomberg has a screaming headline that should send cold chills down any remaining climate cultists on X: Trump is coming at them "like a wrecking ball..."

...Abroad, it's feared the incoming administration will "take a wrecking ball to climate diplomacy," says Rachel Cleetus, climate and energy policy director at the Union of Concerned Scientists. Even before Trump takes office, his victory has cast a shadow over the United Nations Climate Conference COP29. Delegates there are grappling with how to navigate global climate action around the US in coming years.

Hey! Did anyone know the big soiree for climate was even going on?

Party's kind of a drag this year. Argentina has left the building.

But between Trump - who has reiterated his plan to withdraw the US from the Paris climate accords once again causing all sorts of hankie sniffing and swoons - and nature...

...they're having a rough go of it.

There was also a bit of a kerfuffle with the Azerbaijani president, who just happened to be hosting the party.

He had the unmitigated gall to say:

Fossil fuels are a gift from God and giving them up is not realistic, the host of the Cop29 climate summit has said.

Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, defended his country’s oil and gas industry during opening remarks at the conference in the country’s capital Baku on Tuesday.

He said: “As a president of Cop29 of course, we will be a strong advocate for green transition, and we are doing it. But at the same time, we must be realistic.

Countries should not be blamed for having [oil and gas resources], and should not be blamed for bringing these resources to the market, because the market needs them. The people need them.

“Quote me that I said that this is a gift of God, and I want to repeat it today here at this audience,” he said, having made a similar statement in April.

The cultists gathered absolutely lost their Schlitz at this guy's speech - just short of running screaming from the room, pissed off. It was a nice touch. Well done, President Aliyev.

So, man. Nothing but gloom hovering over what's been a festive fly-in party for the past decades.

I mean, even Saint Scowly Pants Thunberg is there and hasn't gotten herself arrested yet.

Over their extravagant wagyu steak dinners, attendees ranted about how cows and the meat sector were far more damaging to the planet than fossil fuels, so they raised the specter of a meat tax to atone for the "crime" of eating meat.

Everyone in favor, wave your fork.

Again, thank God Trump's a beef guy.

He's also a businessman, who has backed the fossil fuel industry as well as assured auto industry workers that the EV mandates are marked for extinction.

He took a step in that direction today with the announcement that they are canceling the $7500 EV tax subsidy for purchases.

You can hear knickers twisting from here.

"HAH! WHAT ABOUT ELON?" the gotcha guys howl.

Musk said some time ago in an interview, when asked specifically about charging stations, that they needed to get rid of all the subsidies. All of them.

In that instance, he pointed out that gas stations aren't subsidized. Let EVs exist on the economy...if they can. The market will decide.

Lee Zeldin, as Environmental Protection Agency head, has activists urging the employees at that agency to "hold the line."

Excuse me - government workers are simply required to do their jobs.

Climate correspondent and man with more frequent flyer miles than you, Bill Weir, joined CNN Newsroom host Jim Acosta on Thursday to discuss what President-elect Donald Trump and EPA Administrator nominee Lee Zeldin mean for the environment. Naturally, Weir was quite gloomy, warning “these are such vital years” and worrying if the agency will be “able to hold the line.”

Acosta began, “Bill, what can you tell us about this? Because, I mean, he could have picked a coal industry lobbyist or something like that, but Lee Zeldin?”

...The EPA may be the poster child for unaccountable, undemocratic governance, but Weir claimed that Zeldin’s confirmation hearing is a test to see how healthy the Senate is as an institution, “But it just seems like if these other picks, Jim, that you're talking about, are any indication, these are pressure tests, you know, for the American and for the Senate, and when it comes to environmental rollbacks and what, you know, what he would hope to do and gut from day one on, you've got to imagine the sky is the limit for Lee Zeldin and that agency.”

Weir would add, “And there's a lot of folks who were there who survived the first term who are terrified today, Jim.

Lots of folks "survived" the first Trump term and "are terrified today"? GMAFB

SO QUIT, YOU BIG BABIES - CLEAN OUT YOUR DESK BEFORE THE WAAHMBULANCE GETS THERE

Not to mention, there's an awful lot of resistance talk going around about a duly elected incoming administration, isn't there?

Personally, all the hysterical hyperventilating is only proving Trump was elected in the twisty knickers of time.

Trump scores a twofer deep-sixing this guy.

If he can gut what's left of the IRA, claw back unspent billions, and show these entrenched, recalcitrant, disgruntled malcontents the door, that's my vote well spent, even before he saves my gas stove and cuts off the federal funding to every offshore wind project on the books.

If they can make it without government subsidies and fleecing the taxpayers on the rate end, have at it.

And we all know they can't.

That's gonna twist some knickers for sure.
