A Preview of Coming Attractions If Harris Wins: Ireland's Hate Crimes Bill Now Law

And I don't think my headline is an exaggeration at all. This is what the radical progs are shooting for and what we're in for should the Left prevail. Irish President Michael Higgins signed the Criminal Justice (Hate Offences) Bill 2022 into law on the 29th, which establishes criminal penalties for "hatred" against selected victim groups.

Better brush up on those pronouns, Padraig.

As you can imagine, the Catholics are going berserk.

Independent Senator Ronan Mullen has described last week’s passing of the Hate Crime Bill in the Oireachtas as an example of “radical gender politics” entering the country’s Statute Law for the first time, saying that it “sets a bad precedent for the future” as the new broad definition of gender comes from “a very ideological place”.

Speaking to The Irish Catholic, Senator Mullen said that his concerns around the Bill arise from its intention to render certain crimes more serious than others based on individual “protected characteristics people have” and the Bill’s recognition of “any form of gender expression”.

“I’m concerned because of the drift of it,” he said. “If people have committed crimes motivated by hatred against people on grounds of certain protected characteristics that those people have, then it turns it into a more serious kind of crime. It suggests that you can have two different categories of victims for the same crime and that’s not a great idea where we’re all supposed to be equal before the law.

See if you can make hide or hair of this explanation of the difficulties with what's "law" now. It sounds absolutely insane.

...“But the real problem is that continuing with this very controversial definition of gender, which doesn’t confine itself to male or female but instead transgender or any form of gender expression including a gender that’s neither male nor female, what you have is radical gender politics coming in for the first time into our statute law.”

It's all trans-argle-bargle fantasy to me, but it's go-to-jail time in Ireland now for them.

As with most draconian, hugely unpopular, authoritarian power grabs, it was a last-minute rush job in the Irish Parliament (the Dáil) accompanied by a little last-minute maneuvering on the part of the Justice Minister to get some sort of "Hate" legislation something shoved through.

Looks like it worked.

...Among five bills rushed through the Dáil in under six hours on the evening of October 23—a process that normally takes several weeks—the contentious legislation defines gender as

the gender of a person or the gender which a person expresses as the person’s preferred gender or with which the person identifies and includes transgender and a gender other than those of male and female.

As the bill was debated in the Seanad (Senate/upper house), populist senator Sharon Keogan read out the 72 genders which have now gained legal standing, needing 25 minutes to complete the jargon-heavy list.

The passage of the bill into law follows Justice Minister Helen McEntee’s confirmation last month that she was not proceeding with plans to introduce new hate speech laws, but would proceed with the hate crime element of the legislation.

SEVENTY-TWO GENDERS NOW HAVE LEGAL STANDING IN IRELAND

No word on whether leprechauns are protected because they're green, short, and cursed with pointy ears. Do they qualify under all of the above, only some or remain one fantasy creature beyond the pale too far?

"Magically delicious" is their pronoun.

I mean, YGTBFKM.

Besides rational citizens, another group who is totally torqued at the trans takeover and obliteration of their freedoms is the lesbian community. They're not in the least bit interested in any of the other dozens of genders. They've got their focus and they want their real women-only spaces, and that would be one of the things they can't have now.

...“Embedding these vague, self-declared identities into law,” said Birdy, “will inevitably erode protections for those with clear, observable characteristics, such as same-sex attracted individuals and women who rely on single-sex spaces for their safety and privacy.

“It will most certainly impact equality legislation,” she added, because “without a clear definition of sex, there can be no clear definition and therefore protections for same-sex attraction”.

I guess it's a small blessing that the "speech" part of the "hate crime" wasn't included, but what did pass is a muddled mess that is open to interpretation and bad intent.

...With the new hate crimes law in effect, Irish prosecutors could now add “aggravated by hatred” on to existing crimes such as “assault”.

Of course, European Union brahmins dictating from Brussels are terribly disappointed that the Irish didn't go far enough to establish more categories of "hate crimes."

...Among glaring defects in Irish criminal law that remained, according to the EU, was the lack of an offence of “incitement to violence”. A second was “incitement to hatred” against an individual.

EU hierarchy has a little laundry list for the Irish to finish up on before their freedoms are completely stripped away to the EUs satisfaction.

As a fellow below explains, there are now "essentially certain groups in society that will be privileged by this law and have superior protection." Where the same crime committed against an average, non-privileged citizen will carry a lower penalty.

That sounds familiar.

There isn't a single thing happening in the UK or Ireland right now that isn't a portent of what's to come under another Democratic president, especially the radical progressive tool we are facing down at the moment.

Voting is a moral imperative like never before.
