This past Monday, the DSA and Hasan Piker threw a rally.

Not in Portland Maine, or Anchorage Alaska, or Dallas Texas, or Columbus Ohio.  Much less Miami Florida.

They held it in Minneapolis — specifically, deep in the heart of the embattled Ilhan "Nur Said Elmi" Omar's Fifth Congressional District.

And it went exactly the way you figured it might.

The rally, titled "I'm The Host Now", was hosted by state senator and former (and barely unsuccessful) socialist mayoral candidate Omar Fateh — and as we noted earlier, it was controversial from the moment it was announced.

"With Piker, it is just tossing a grenade into the campaign. It's going to knock Flanagan off of her main talking points about affordability and Donald Trump. It's going to create a split within the DFL. There's nothing about this that's going to be a positive," said Dr. Larry Jacobs, a University of Minnesota political science professor.

And the organizers certainly framed it to be as big as the media hype that surrounded it (I'll add emphasis):

State Sen. Omar Fateh and Rep. Ilhan Omar plan to welcome Piker to Minnesota for a podcast on Monday night. Fateh posted that the event sold out in five minutes.

It's worth noting that the event took place at "Theater in the Round". a theater (in the round) in the middle of "the West Bank", on the border between the University of Minnesota and the Somali-dominated Five Corners neighborhood — where a "sell out" crowd is 245 people.

The socialist hero arrived in an Escalade (what, you expected a Lada?) — which also went about as expected:

And once the "rally" (it was more of a town hall) got started?

Whatever your expectations you likely had were utterly fulfilled.  While media were kept out and dissenters rigorously excluded, this DSA-linked X account had some video:

And, as the kids say, "the receipts" - in this case, going after his apparent real enemy, the mainstream Democrats.  Pardon the childish language, which was, naturally, Piker's:

"I hate this. I am more woke than the fucking Minnesota DFL. I'm more woke than you. You guys are pieces of shit. You're fucking out-of-touch assholes; not everyone in DFL is, but yes, the state party that's been chirping about this are out-of-touch assholes. They're making it seem like I'm this radical, racist or something. Fuck you. The only reason why you're doing this is because YOU'RE racist, because you have an emotional investment in an apartheid state that's done a genocide and you can't have that conversation, so all you do is fucking disparage people who speak out against it. Well, sucks to suck for you. The overwhelming majority of your voters also hate this connection that we have and also hate the actions of this apartheid state that's doing a genocide."

Amy Klobuchar was certainly not feeling the love.

And then, as suddenly as he'd arrived, he left:

Someone quipped "No way he doesn't fly first class".

I'm pretty sure he flies "Vanguard Elite" class.
