Kamala's Former Aides Accuse Israel of Genocide, Demand She Calls for a Ceasefire

I think that the former aides to Kamala Harris give her too much credit for holding sway. Former aides to her failed 2020 presidential campaign wrote a letter to her in which they called Israel’s defense against Hamas as “genocide” and demanded Kamala “seek an immediate ceasefire” in the Israel-Hama war.

The former aides are collecting signatures for the letter, now in draft stage, which encourages Kamala to support the ceasefire resolution introduced by Rep. Cori Bush. They also want “independent investigations of human rights violations in Gaza.” Kamala’s former campaign hires are clearly choosing Hamas over Israel. There is no such thing as separating Hamas from Gazans because the people residing in Gaza chose Hamas as their political leaders. Hamas runs Gaza. At a time that calls for choosing sides, of moral clarity, Kamala’s former aides are choosing the side of evil. How else do you describe these people but as pro-Hamas?

What does that say about Kamala Harris, her skills as a leader, and her judgement skills? This letter is coming at a bad time for the vice president. She is in the middle of yet another makeover meant to portray her as a strong partner to Joe Biden. Did you watch her interview on 60 Minutes Sunday? It was full of softballs, as per usual, yet she still came off as a clueless dunce. Most embarrassing of all is that she felt compelled to confirm that Joe Biden is alive. Her office won’t respond to the letter but two supporters who previously worked for her said it is not helpful because the ‘stunt’ unfairly targets her.

What makes the draft letter even more hideous is the fact that Kamala is married to a Jew. Doug Emhoff, the first Second Gentleman, has taken a leading role in the Biden administration’s fight against anti-Semitism.

“Being the first man in this role being married to the first woman in her role, I thought that would be the biggest deal,” Mr. Emhoff told the Post-Gazette. “But as it turned out, I’m the first Jewish person ever married to a president or vice president, the first Jewish White House principal ever. That, as it turned out, was an equally big deal and something that’s very important. I feel a great responsibility for being in that role as a Jewish person.”

Emhoff should be speaking out when his wife won’t. He will not, though, because we are moving into a presidential election and Joe Biden is scared of offending the pro-Hamas caucus in Congress. Democrats are dividing over the Israel-Hamas war.

“We must mourn the tragic loss of Israeli life targeted by Hamas,” the draft letter reads, “however, we must firmly and unequivocally reject the Israeli government’s exploitation of these deaths to stage a retaliatory and genocidal campaign against civilians.”

The letter’s existence, even in draft form, illustrates the degree to which the conflict in Gaza has become a political tinderbox, pitting traditional Democratic constituencies against facets of the party’s elected leadership. It’s a dynamic that could impact future plans Harris has as she, as part of the Biden reelect, tries to reach disaffected younger voters. It’s already affected current operations.

Kamala has been delegated to doing college campus tours and trying to get college students excited to go vote for a feeble 80-year-old man in his bid for re-election. Kamala’s office developed a plan for when her speeches are potentially interrupted by protesters. No specifics are being released and Kamala has not changed her schedule.

Harris claims to be working with Biden through the crisis. Perhaps she is reassuring world leaders that “Joe Biden is still alive,” as she said on 60 Minutes. Yikes!

Harris has largely echoed President Joe Biden’s response to the attacks on Israel. In a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, she said she’s spoken with President Isaac Herzog of Israel since the Hamas attack and has joined Biden on calls with Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Democrat Party is splintering over the Israel-Hamas war. You hate to see it happen. There is no indication that either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris will be able to bring the party back together. Neither are strong and competent in leadership skills. That’s why our country is in the mess it is in after 3 years of Joe Biden in the White House. Congressional Progressive Caucus Chairwoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) warned Biden that his support of Israel could hurt him with Democratic voters in 2024. The Democrat Party is rife with anti-Semitism, which has been on display since Hamas began the war on October 7.

More from the draft letter:

“We remain in grief, deeply affected by the impact of the brutal Hamas attack on Israeli civilians on October 7th, and are grateful for your leadership in seeking the safe return of hostages,” the draft letter from Harris campaign alums begins. “That said, we greatly mourn the growing number of innocent Palestinians killed by indiscriminate Israeli attacks in acts of collective punishment over the last two weeks. As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza rapidly deteriorates, it is indisputably clear that this is not a campaign of Israeli national defense.”

Israel warned Gazans to get out and go to safety before the ground war began. Hamas refused to let the people go. The people committing genocide are Hamas.

The Biden administration has bent over backwards to appease the Progressive Caucus and people like The Squad. Now they can deal with a splintering party over hatred of Israel and Jews. Kamala can’t go against anything Biden does or says. It would be political suicide and she sees herself as the first woman president.
