DHS Secretary Mayorkas announced a brand new group of intelligence experts and it’s called the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group. He didn’t exactly break a sweat coming up with that title, did he?

This is horrifying. Just when we thought these lying liars were out of government service – at any level – and were put out to pasture to be paid contributors on CNN and MSNBC, they come back. Mayorkas has brought them back. Two names on the list immediately jump out and cause a wave of nausea to the reader, at least conservative readers. That’s right – Mayorkas is bringing back former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan. It’s unbelievable. Both of these have been disgraced for their roles in promoting the Russia, Russia, Russia story made up and paid for by Hillary Clinton and they both signed the letter stating that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian misinformation in 2020 in order to interfere with the presidential election.

Instead of slithering off and continuing to cash in on their lies and character assassination on cable tv that is devoted to Trump stories 24/7, they will be semi-rehabilitated by being members of this group. James Clapper lied to Congress and didn’t receive so much as a slap on the wrist. John Brennan called President Trump a traitor. Was he hoping by doing so that Trump would be executed? Democrats just let that accusation ride. No arguments from them. These two men are as slimy as they come.

Why do either of these two still have security clearances? Why were such high profile liars chosen now when another presidential election is coming in 2024? Can’t they just spout the DNC’s talking points on cable news shows and stay out of any organized group in the federal government that affects the lives of regular Americans? By regular Americans, I mean conservatives on whom they will likely concoct “evidence” in order to silence Biden critics. That is what happens in Biden’s America. The president is running for re-election and is desperately trying to eliminate Trump from the race.

The mission statement from the press release reads, “Experts Group to provide advice and perspectives on intelligence and national security efforts to the Office of Intelligence and Analysis and the Office of Counterterrorism Coordinator to support DHS’ vital work to protect our country.”

Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) Ken Wainstein, and Counterterrorism Coordinator Nicholas Rasmussen joined Mayorkas with the announcement. Each man released a statement to justify creating another government agency to an already bloated federal government.

“The security of the American people depends on our capacity to collect, generate, and disseminate actionable intelligence to our federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, campus, and private sector partners,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas. “I express my deep gratitude to these distinguished individuals for dedicating their exceptional expertise, experience, and vision to our critical mission.”

“The Homeland Intelligence Experts Group is being formed at a time of unprecedented challenge, with the U.S. intelligence enterprise facing threats from a range of malign actors, to include foreign nation-state adversaries, domestic violent extremists, cyber criminals, drug-trafficking cartels and other transnational criminal organizations,” said Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis Ken Wainstein. “The Experts Group will be an invaluable asset as we navigate through this evolving threat and operating environment and continue to strengthen our efforts to protect the Homeland.”

“The homeland threat environment is more diverse, dynamic, and challenging than at any point in our post 9/11 history, with threats tied to an array of different terrorist and violent extremist ideologies and narratives,” said Counterterrorism Coordinator Nicholas Rasmussen. “The experience, expertise, and perspective offered by Experts Group members will undoubtedly put the Department in a strong position to confront this threat landscape, and we are grateful for the willingness of the Experts Group members to serve in this important capacity.”

I suppose we should be happy they didn’t say they are protecting democracy. They didn’t single out MAGA Republicans as Dark Brandon does in his speeches. The board consists of “former senior intelligence officials, journalists, and prominent human rights and civil liberties advocates.” Journalists?

The press release ends by saying the group will meet four times a year. They will “leverage” each member’s expertise to provide input on I&A’s “most complex problems and challenges, including terrorism, fentanyl, transborder issues, and emerging technology.”

I’m no intelligence expert and I don’t claim to be an expert on homeland security, except when I write here, of course, but one thing that would make their jobs easier would be to convince Mayorkas and Joe Biden to close the southern border. I’m not talking about pretend closing the border as they are doing now. I mean shut it and give some relief to Border Patrol and other law enforcement on the southern border so they have a little breathing room to do their jobs. Unfortunately, the history of at least two members of this new group is that of lying to benefit Joe Biden.
