In a presidential election where voters consistently rank illegal migration and the crime that frequently accompanies it among their top concerns, you might imagine that having the support of the border officials responsible for keeping that situation under control might be seen as a significant boost to a candidate's prospects. Unfortunately, that ship appears to have sailed for Kamala Harris and it won't be returning to the dock any time soon. On Sunday, during a rally for Trump held in Arizona, Trump was joined by representatives of the Border Patrol Union where he announced that he had received the endorsement of "the entire union of the Border Patrol agents." Trump claimed that the endorsement had been unanimous. Assuming that statement is true, this was a powerful endorsement particularly arriving when it did. (Fox News)
The official union of the U.S. border patrol announced its full support of former President Trump during a rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona on Sunday.
During the rally, Trump told the crowd that he was "honored to receive… the endorsement" of the union of the entire union of the border patrol agents, the National Border Patrol Council.
"It’s a great honor," Trump said. "They said it was unanimous. Thousands of people."
The President of the Union had some words of warning about allowing "border czar Harris to win this election" because every community in this country will wind up "going to hell." Obviously. the Union President is not a man who minces words. He invoked the specter of more drugs, such as fentanyl coming across the border along with human trafficking and foreign gang members. These are the "fruits" of four years of Biden and Harris controlling US border policy.
Endorsements tend to fall like leaves from the trees in the Northeast during the final days of a campaign season, but that's what makes this particular endorsement such a dramatic moment. What can Kamala Harris possibly say in response to this sort of unanimous show of support for Trump? These aren't random politicians looking to further spread Harris' lies about not actually being the border czar when she is on record multiple times being identified as such. These are the men and women who spend every day on the front line facing down precisely the crimes being identified. Most are in the unique position of having served under both Trump and Harris and they know when the system was working and when it stopped working.
This endorsement may not carry the day in some states further from the border like Pennsylvania, but there are plenty of border states in play next month as well. How many of those people saw their own lands overrun or had the security of their families and/or their property violated? How many of them know of and appreciate the efforts of the Border Patrol but have watched them being handcuffed, preventing them from doing their jobs? There are many issues that have roiled to the surface during the course of this election, but illegal migration may just turn out to sneak up and suddenly bite the Harris campaign where the sun doesn't shine.
