Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007.
What stories topped your priority lists this week? Oil prices soared again this week as the Houthis made their move on the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the west coast of Yemen. Will Donald Trump maintain the strategic patience necessary to allow the US naval blockade and economic sanctions to succeed in collapsing the IRGC? I'm skeptical, but Duane has more confidence that the White House won't cut any deals with the IRGC.
We then tackle the biggest story of the week – Sydney Sweeney. Only for a few minutes, of course, and mainly to marvel at how the Left has tied themselves in knots over a Sweeney nontroversy ... again. I also explain the necessity of proper research. The things I do for you guys ...
And on that note, Duane asks me to, er, name my favorite drag queen. We discuss the James Talarico non-phenomenon in Texas, as well as the very big Hasan Piker phenomenon everywhere else – but especially in Michigan. Democrats have gone from "big tent" when talking about Piker to "who dat?" in the past few weeks, but will it work? Chuck Schumer has begun dumping big money in Texas to keep Abdul El-Sayed afloat, but with Piker doing everything he can to torpedo his buddy, will it matter?
Be sure to watch it all, and extend the conversation in the comments!
