Make Biology Great Again: Trump Orders End to ‘Gender’ Wokeness

Promise. Kept.

During the 2024 election campaign, Donald Trump drew a sharp contrast with Kamala Harris by shining a harsh light on her transgender activism. They ran a campaign ad that showed Harris bragging about providing taxpayer-funded sex-change therapies to felons in prisons. “Kamala Harris is for they/them,” the ads concluded, and “Donald Trump is for you."

Trump promised to put an end to gender wokeness as soon as he takes office. Late last night, the Free Press reported that Trump will indeed make that a Day One executive order — and put teeth into it:

President Trump has addressed all this and more in an expansive executive order he will sign tomorrow afternoon called “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.”

Here is what the order sets out:

  • The Executive Order establishes Government-wide the biological reality of two sexes and clearly defines male and female.

    • All radical gender ideology guidance, communication, policies, and forms are removed.

    • Agencies will cease pretending that men can be women and women can be men when enforcing laws that protect against sex discrimination.

    • “Woman” means an “adult human female.”

    • The Executive Order directs that Government identification like passports and personnel records will reflect biological reality and not self-assessed gender identity.

  • The Executive Order ends the practice of housing men in women’s prisons and taxpayer funded “transition” for male prisoners.

  • The Executive Order ends the forced recitation of “preferred pronouns” and protects Americans’ First Amendment and statutory rights to recognize the biological and binary nature of sex.

    • This includes protection in the workplace and in federal funded entities like schools.

Quite literally, this fulfills the promise to restore sanity to the federal government. And that’s not a Joe Biden “literally,” but a literal “literally.” It means the end of government compulsion that forces people to participate in the delusions of others. And more importantly, it stops the pressure on children to maim themselves for the virtue-signaling benefit of the adults around them.

“This is far from mere symbolism,” reporter Emily Yoffe notes, and warns that lawsuits will follow shortly afterward. That, however, may be exactly what Trump and his new administration wants. Joe Biden and Democrats exploited the Dobbs decision to some electoral success in 2022, as voters are passionate but fairly evenly divided on abortion.

There is no such parity over the radical transgender agenda, though. David just wrote about a poll published on Saturday by the NYT and Ipsos shows that 79% oppose biological males participating in women’s sports. When it comes to pediatric sex changes, 71% of Americans oppose that too, and 90% oppose it for anyone under the age of 15. A near majority (49%) believe that government has gone too far in “accommodating transgender people”; only 21% think it hasn’t gone far enough, and just 28% believe that a rational balance has been struck.

In other words, Trump and his team understand that they represent the vast majority of Americans on these issues. If Democrats want a fight over pronoun policing, males using female spaces in competitions and bathrooms, and maiming children in pursuit of elite delusions, Republicans and the Trump administration would gladly allow Democrats to die on that hill. And die their political standing will, even more than it did when Trump splashed Harris’ radical bragging all over the air during the campaign.

Insanity has its consequences. Trump and his team are willing to fight for sanity, and would be happy to champion it as a battle against an elite clique that has already earned the resentment of the electorate.
