I just got off a plane after 3 hours of sleep, which means that my IQ has temporarily dropped by 25 points.
Currently, my mental capacity is considerably closer to that of an MSM reporter than usual. Apologies. My usual brilliance is unnaturally dimmed. I promise that I will be back to my Einstein-level analytical skills by tomorrow.
However diminished my mental capacity at the moment I still am smart enough to not trust Hamas’ spin on the war in Gaza. It is striking to me how credulous the MSM is, and how willing they are to stir up the emotions of the ignorant protesters who are rampaging in our streets and our college campuses.
I am continually impressed at how ridiculous some of the coverage of the Israel-Hamas war has been. Reuters called released Israelis “soldiers,” not hostages, making it sound like Israel and Hamas were doing a POW exchange. The Washington Post called what is going on an exchange of “captives,” implying that captured terrorists are equivalent to children and grandmothers who have nothing to do with military actions.
No, I am not kidding.
Reuters purports to be a legitimate news source–one of the best in the world–and their genius propagandists can’t come up with a better lie than this?
Even I, practically dead on my feet, could do at least a bit better job of lying, and it would never have occurred to me to lie like this or try to get away with it as Reuters did. After a deluge of insults aimed at them they finally relented and apologized, sort of.
This was not some “heat of the moment/fog of war” type of mistake. They have had 50 days to learn what you and I knew on Day 1. They were not ignorant. They lied. Why I call them stupid is that they attempted to get away with such a transparent lie.
Do better, Reuters. If you want to be good propagandists make sure the IQ of your reporters is north of 130. Better yet, try telling the truth once in a while. It will feel good, I assure you!
In any case, after Thanksgiving Break (starting tomorrow) I will have plenty to write about. This weekend provided plenty of material.
