SPLC Union Bravely Comes Out in Support of...Terrorism

Southern Poverty Law Center

As I wrote almost 2 weeks ago, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been conspicuously silent on all the pro-Hamas activity and groups in the United States. Given the amount of anti-semitic hate being expressed these days and the number of groups openly embracing terrorism against Israel, you would expect an organization that claims to identify hate groups to say something.

Well, the wait is over. Or, perhaps more accurately, the wait to find out what the SPLC’s employees believe is over. The organization itself has remained stubbornly silent on the matter because to do so would be openly supporting terrorism, which would be a bad look.

Apparently, the SPLC has a union, and like the SPLC itself it has the strangest definition of “hate.”

I don’t know anything about a massive increase in attacks directed at Muslims and Sikhs. There certainly has been an increase in hate and attacks directed at Jews.

“Desecration?” That is a rather odd choice of words given that the desecration of bodies was one of the tactics used by Hamas, and not one being used by the Israeli army in its efforts to root out Hamas terrorists from Gaza. Of all the word choices to use that is the weirdest one I could imagine.

Let’s take a closer look at this statement:

  • There is no mention of the terrorist attacks on Israelis
  • There is the claim that the SPLC is about decolonization
  • There is the claim that Israel is imperialist and beginning a genocide
  • There is a claim that anti-Muslim and anti-Sikh attacks are spiking

On the last point, there is only one apparently anti-Muslim attack that I can find in the news, and it was horrific. I have read nothing regarding anti-Sikh attacks. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of videos of anti-semitic actions and repeated calls for the genocide of Jews.

That the SPLC is rooted in decolonization is news to me. It describes itself as a civil rights organization, but then again everything left-wing these days is about the eradication of Western ideals and Westerners–where the concept of civil rights was invented. “Decolonize” is just a code word for eliminating the West.

That Israel is imperialist–or even that it “occupies” Gaza is absurd. Gaza is self-governed–although clearly it shouldn’t be governed by the current group in power. The occupation to which they refer is the existence of Israel itself. Gaza will likely be occupied soon enough by Israel, but what else can they do if they want to quit being attacked all the time by rockets and terrorists?

The whole statement is ridiculous and offensive, but for the claim that Palestinian lives matter. Of course they do. It is striking though that Israeli lives apparently don’t–they certainly merited no mention. The only mentions of Israel have to do with it ceasing to exist. The claim of “occupation” of territory doesn’t apply to Gaza, which isn’t occupied, but the state of Israel itself.

The slogan being used by the Palestinians the SPLC union is supporting is “from the river to the sea,” which refers to the entire state of Israel being “decolonized.” In other words, the SPLC union is backing what amounts to genocide of the Jewish people in Israel.

Conservatives have long known that the SPLC long ago gave up the pretense of being a civil rights group and that it claims that pretty much every conservative group is a hate group.

But this is one for the record books. Ignoring terrorism and endorsing the Palestinian goal of wiping Israel off the map.

UPDATE: Here is what the Biden Administration thinks about anti-semitism. Perfectly in line with how the Left has abandoned all concern for Jews.
