Dr. Trump A.I. Video Shows Pitfalls, Potential for Politicians

Does Dr. Trump make house calls?

We ask because the President just shared a new A.I. created comedy video bound to make some culture war noise. And, perhaps, increase the number of Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers.

The clip addresses just that, allowing Dr. Trump to show how his new treatment plan helps celebrities in late-stage TDS. Think Rosie O'Donnell, John Leguizamo, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton and Whoopi Goldberg.

Have you seen "The View" lately?

The video's A.I. recreations of the stars in play are spotty. The De Niro doppelganger is eerily good, while Leguizamo is obviously a faded copy. The vocal inflections get close enough, but the overall effect works. The faux De Niro's comments in the clip sound eerily close to reality.

I had no idea how much this was affecting my life. My work has slowed down. I’m hardly recognizable anymore. I just needed help. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. Constantly angry. I made everyone miserable around me.

Dr. Trump's solution? Turn off all that Fake News and kick back wth the occasional Diet Coke, the president's favorite beverage.

It's hardly the first time a celebrity flexed their A.I. video skills. Spencer Pratt leaned on submitted A.I. clips to power his L.A.mayoral candidacy. Not all A.I. stunts work as intended, though.

President Trump previously put out a Jesus-like A.I. still that got a negative reaction far and wide.

Here's betting the reaction to the Dr. Trump clip will be far more positive, except in media circles. Variety already shared a story on the video, although the far-Left outlet kept the editorializing to a minimum.

Mostly.

It won't be long before other social media-savvy politicians join the fun. NewYork City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is a skilled social media user, even if you loathe his policies and beliefs. When he starts using A.I. to mock his opponents or push his ill-conceived visions, the media will not only cover every clip but shower them with praise.

That will make their virality even more powerful.

The Dr. Trump clip may be effective, but it's also obviously a spoof. No one watching it will think this is a real medical matter, or that Trump's loudest critics suddenly saw the error of their ways.

The real danger lies in fake A.I. videos purporting to be true. That's where the political winds will inevitably shift, and it will become increasingly difficult to both spot them and fact-check them in real time.

The Dr. Trump clip is funny, even if the editing isn't nearly as sharp as necessary. There's little funny about A.I.'s potential to mislead.
