Hollywood, Inc. would never listen to Doug Ellin. It should. Now, before it's too late.
The TV creator was the force behind "Entourage," the HBO comedy series about a rising star (Adrian Grenier) and his three best buddies — Turtle, Drama and E (Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Kevin Connolly). Their oh, so bawdy adventures were a hoot, and they arrived at a time when terms like "toxic masculinity" and "the male gaze" didn't flatten the fun out of movies and TV shows.
The show ran for eight seasons and spawned a 2015 feature film, but after a while it became a show HBO would rather not celebrate. Too unwoke. Too male. Too white. Too much privilege.
So there's little hope for an "Entourage" reunion, even though a podcast featuring some of the show's key members ran for five years until a recent pause in production.
Victory! Sort of.
Lately, Ellin is saying the kind of things that could get him in hot water in La La Land. He said he was "done" with crime-infested L.A. in 2022. More recently, he blasted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a "fraud" for her ideological views.

During the most recent L.A. Mayoral race, Ellin backed rebel candidate Spencer Pratt over the established Democratic choices — Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.
This city has collapsed in the last five years. There is no f–king denying it unless you have an agenda, and I don’t know what that is... But, you say, ‘Oh, Spencer Pratt has no experience!’ What experience did Karen Bass have?
Through it all, he's shared a distinct lack of love for the GOP. Nor does he walk around California with a red MAGA hat. He simply cannot stomach what Democrats have done to his state and the city he once adored.
Now, he's sharing how his work has showed him just how far the City of Angels has fallen. He did so on CNN, of all places, chatting with the far-left network's Elizabeth Wagmeister.

Ellin is shooting a new project around L.A. now, and it's allowed him a close-up view of how the city has changed since "Entourage" began in 2004.
I look at LA today, and one of the differences when we were shooting then, everything was just beautiful.
That's no longer the case. In fact, his crew has to get a bit creative to capture what they need for the project.
When we were shooting this one, it was like, "All right, we gotta face that way. We gotta pull that over there. We gotta get some police over here to help us out over there ... The city doesn't look or feel like it did then.
Sadly, locals opted against a fresh face like Pratt in this year's mayoral election, leaving citizens to choose between Mayor Bass and Raman for the city's future.
