The hits keep coming for whatever tenuous claim to being a democracy the United Kingdom under Sir Keir Starmer's increasingly authoritarian and thin-skinned administration - or is it regime - has left.
Personally, I think you'd have one helluva time finding any vestige of it, but that's cynical me.
After yesterday's exposure of the truly dystopian Labour plans to simply postpone the May elections, which have been trending away from them, and could very possibly result in a parliamentary rout for the Prime Minister, today's actions by his government pour more fuel on the fire.
If you'll remember back to this past August, one of the most potent symbols of Starmer's aggressive repression of the freedom of expression walked out of prison after 31 months in jail for committing the crime of a single, solitary, angry social media post on X.
The young mother, who was still suffering the effects of her child's death and exhausted from being the caretaker for another, as well as a desperately ill husband, was railroaded into a plea agreement that had her serving more time than many murderers, paedophiles, and those infamous British rapists. Her sentence and confinement were so over-the-top that the Telegraph felt compelled to put together a rogues' gallery of criminal offenders who spent less time, or went free entirely, than the online criminal Lucy Connolly.
But Starmer wanted to make an example of the housewife and her anger, and so he did.
It has been a few months since her release, and she hasn't exactly been a shrinking violet. Then again, those who can't stand the Lucy Connollys of the world haven't exactly left her alone to put her life back together.
It's been fractious.
There's a small group of folk that have obsessively & creepily stalked & harassed Lucy

From knocking her door & doors on her street to trying to dig up her kids birth certificates
They do this from behind blocks, they're not journalists, just trolls
Quite a nasty bunch really https://t.co/M330ghYGGo
Some of the worst have been the local press, who simply can't seem to drop their fascination with the working-class Connolly, and then acting the victim when she calls them out on X.
The voluble Connolly, who doesn't seem interested in filtering anything she says, is under the proverbial microscope, living in a police state while on probation.
It has to be immense pressure.
But with so many working-class Brits and many Reform members on her side, Connolly is exploring running for MP (member of Parliament) from her district...
Lucy Connolly has hinted at standing as an MP after calling for "new blood" in politics.
Mrs Connolly, who is the wife of a former Conservative councillor, has opened the door to a potential political career, saying "something needs to be done".
The former childminder was jailed for stirring up racial hatred against asylum seekers online in the aftermath of the Southport murders in 2024 and released from prison last August.
...even as the Starmer regime faces renewed and uncomfortable questions over its treatment of her for a Xweet vice the hero's welcome they gave a certified racist Jew-hater returning to England, Alla Abd El-Fattah.
...Connolly, on the basis of legal advice, pleaded guilty to this serious charge. She was probably wise to do so, for if she had pleaded not guilty and then convicted any sentence would have been heavier. She received a three-and-a-half-year sentence on 31 October 2024 for her social media utterance, though she was released on 21 August 2025.
Many thought her sentence excessive. Some thought she should not have even been convicted, notwithstanding Connolly’s own guilty plea. Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the opposition, said: “Protecting people from words should not be given greater weight in law than public safety. If the law does this, then the law itself is broken and it’s time parliament looked again at the Public Order Act.”
Over the last week, past tweets posted by the campaigner Alaa Abd El-Fattah – who was recently released from prison in Egypt, and arrived in the UK in late December – have come to light. According to the Guardian:
“Most of the social media posts in question were written on X between 2010 and 2012 during the Arab Spring, when the British-Egyptian democracy activist was turning 30. The tweets appeared to show Abd El-Fattah calling for violence against Zionists and the police.
“In the posts, most of which appear to have been deleted and could not immediately be verified, he described the killing of Zionists as heroic, adding ‘we need to kill more of them’. In 2011 he is accused of saying police ‘don’t have rights, we should just kill them all’. He also once described British people as dogs and monkeys.
Two Tier Keir strikes again - he's batting 1000.
Time for some light-hearted fun, right?
She'd read a joke about Venezuela and Keir Starmer.
This is pretty hilarious, all things Keir-nsidered (Obviously, it struck a lot of people as funny because the Xweet has 708K views and over 14K likes.).

Connolly shared it as well.
HA HA
Her probation office has informed her that they will let her know when their investigation of her Xweet is finished, as she may go back to prison for violating her probation because of it.
This is Madness, especially when that Extremist Alaa Abdel Fattah's has not been arrested or detained because of the vile and hateful things he said which were 100 times worse than anything @LucyTCWife ever said. https://t.co/Ye2JZhSu5i

HA HA!
The joke is on Connolly.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
The gorgeous Dutch populist firebrand Eva Vlaardingerbroek got her own 'NO Starmer jokes allowed' surprise in her inbox this morning, and wasn't it a humdinger.
Disgraceful. I will take this up with the Home Office.

The hypocrisy of the Starmer government and outright two-faced lying is just astonishing to behold.
If the British think for two seconds that this will keep the saucy Dutch freedom fighter from running her mouth now, they've got another thing coming.
I’ve been banned from traveling to the UK. 🇬🇧

No reason given. No right to appeal. Zero due process.
Just an email saying the UK government deems me "not conducive to the public good" - exactly three days after I criticized Keir Starmer.
I guess my point that the UK is no… pic.twitter.com/JAcMMcjf1I
...I guess my point that the UK is no longer a free country has been indisputably proven.
Now, it is absolutely Starmer's prerogative to ban anyone he wants.
But it does seem he's laser-focused on things that affect his thin skin and tenuous grasp on power rather than on what would make life for the people living under his government better, safer, more prosperous, and secure.
I know there's some sort of word for that kind of man.
Give it a minute - it'll come to me.
