House Republicans (Finally) Vote to Recommend Hunter Biden be Held in Contempt of Congress

The House Oversight and Judiciary Committees voted in favor of holding Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress. The full House will take it up for a vote.

This comes as the House is preparing an inquiry into impeaching Joe Biden, so the timing is awkward for the Biden crime family. Having layer upon layer of corruption exposed from the family business, as well as Biden’s son poking a finger in the eye of Congressional Republicans trying to depose him before a public hearing, does not help the president’s re-election efforts. You hate to see it happen.

The resolution to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress is expected to pass in the House, perhaps with some Democrat votes joining with Republicans. It is pretty hard to argue that Hunter is not in contempt because Hunter ignored his scheduled deposition behind closed doors. Instead, he held a press briefing outside the Senate building. The film crew that is doing the documentary on Hunter was there. It was a political stunt, allegedly arranged by Rep. Eric Swalwell. Swalwell was present with Team Hunter.

Hunter wants to skip the private deposition and go straight to the hearing. That is not his decision to make. As a private citizen, he has to honor a congressional subpoena, whether he likes it or not. Hunter wants to skip right to a public hearing in Congress so he can deliver a theatrical performance. The standard process is to hold a deposition behind closed doors with a limited number of members of Congress. Then the process moves to a Congressional hearing before the whole committees.

The president’s man-child son must be held accountable for his actions. Republicans have to hold the line and get down to the business of moving forward with what has been discovered during the investigations into the Biden crime family’s wheeling and dealing to profit off Joe Biden’s name and political access.

It is hard to imagine that Biden’s DOJ and AG Merrick Garland will actually prosecute Hunter, should it come to that, but Republicans have to insist that the process goes forward. Democrats eagerly prosecuted members of Trump World, including deposing the Trump adult children. Trump’s kids sat for hours of questioning behind closed doors. Garland’s DOJ prosecuted people like Steve Bannon over congressional subpoenas. In Biden’s America, there is a two-tier system of justice, with Donald Trump on one track and the rest of everyone else on another. That has been exposed in spades.

Hunter Biden is a 53-year-old spoiled brat. He has never been held accountable for anything because his father has connections. Hunter was forced to acknowledge his daughter with a woman he did not marry. The Biden family has ignored her since her birth and Hunter wanted to drastically cut child support payments because his income has declined. Ahem. Fortunately, the case was litigated in Arkansas where sane people live and Hunter has to continue to support his little girl. That case went to Hunter’s character.

Hunter pulled another political stunt on Wednesday when he unexpectedly showed up before Rep. James Comer’s House Oversight Committee, along with his high-dollar Washington, D.C. lawyer and his Sugar Bro, Kevin Morris. Morris is making the documentary and is Hunter’s top art patron. He has paid off Hunter’s debts to the IRS. The three men sat in the front row and smiled and laughed at times, showing how unserious they are about all this. Hunter and his entourage left when Rep. Nancy Mace accused Hunter of being a coward and having “no balls.” He was also intimidated by the vigor in which Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was starting to go after him. The three men bailed and Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, read a statement in the hall. After that, they exited the building.

Lowell delivered a brief statement to reporters after he and Hunter Biden left the Oversight meeting. He said the GOP chairmen have “commandeered an unprecedented resolution to hold someone in contempt who has offered to publicly answer all their proper questions.”

“Hunter Biden was and is a private citizen,” he said. “Despite this, Republicans have sought to use him as a surrogate to attack his father. And, despite their improper partisan motives, on six occasions — from February to today — we have offered to work with the House committees to see what and how relevant information to any legitimate inquiry could be provided.”.

One interesting development during Hunter’s brief time in the hearing room was that Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) declared he would vote in favor of holding Hunter in contempt if Republicans would do the same to Republicans who have not honored congressional subpoenas, like Reps. Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy. He whipped out documents as he did so, indicating, at least to me, that he was in on this political stunt. He sure looked like he was working with Team Hunter. He was to this hearing what Swalwell was to the press conference on the steps outside the Senate building. Maybe he wanted to get into Hunter’s documentary.

Anyway, House Republicans released a report Monday that criticized Hunter Biden of “flagrant defiance” of subpoenas issued by the two committees. They were issued as part of the House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. The subpoena was to compel Hunter to attend a closed-door deposition. They justify the importance of Hunter’s testimony a “critical component” in the impeachment investigation. “With the possible exception of President Biden, [Hunter] Biden is the most important witness possessing information about President Biden’s involvement in his son’s business dealings,” the Republicans said.

Hunter is the lynchpin in the dealings for the Biden crime family. There would be no multi-million dollar deals without Hunter making them. He prides himself on making deals. The problem is that the Biden family has no business to offer in exchange for big bucks except access to Joe Biden and his political connections. It really is as simple and as corrupt as that. The House Oversight Committee has uncovered a trail of documents and paperwork that allegedly prove the allegations against Hunter. This is why Hunter is distracting away from the serious allegations against him and how they include his father in the family business. It’s all coming unraveled as Joe Biden sits in the White House (when he isn’t on vacation.)

Hunter doesn’t get to call the shots. He doesn’t get to decide when he testifies or in front of whom he testifies. It’s good that the House committees are moving ahead. They must continue and hold Hunter (and his father) accountable, whether it is a presidential election year or not.
