Marjorie Taylor Greene responds to NYC Mayor Adams after he tells her to “be on your best behavior"

NYC Mayor Eric Adams issued a warning to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday, telling her she should be on her best behavior when she’s in the city to protest Trump’s indictment on Tuesday. He did so during a City Hall press conference about security preparations for Trump’s court appearance. “People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, while you’re in town, be on your best behavior,” Adams said.

Is Mayor Adams conflating MTG’s First Amendment rights with violence? How about property damage? Those are the results of big city protests that turned into riots during the Summer Of Love in 2020 at the hands of leftists. Greene is planning to hold a rally at noon on Tuesday with the New York Young Republicans to protest Trump’s indictment. She is emphasizing that she expects a peaceful rally. Apparently, Adams doesn’t anticipate liking what she will have to say.

Adams and his concern for public safety during a rally are touching, right? Imagine what the residents of New York must think of his remarks. Violent crime is rampant in New York and criminals know they will be let right back out on the streets if they are arrested. Adams pretends that violence isn’t allowed in the city.

Adams, standing with New York Police Department Commissioner Keechant Sewell, said he expects some disruption, but is not worried about violence. There have been no “specific credible threats” made at this point, he said.

The Democratic mayor did have a message for any potential “rabble rousers” like Greene.

“Control yourselves,” he said. “New York City is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger.”

“As always, we will not allow violence of any kind,” Adams said.

In what world does this guy live? This will probably amount to much ado about nothing. When Trump was facing the possibility of indictment, before it happened, he said there would be potential death and destruction if it happened. Nothing has happened. Some loyal supporters show up in front of Mar-a-Lago and wave Trump flags. Some will probably show up in front of the courthouse and others may come to MTG’s rally.

When the left accuses others (those on the right) of misinformation, it means opinions they don’t want to hear. The left, who once were the champions of free speech, now shut the speech down as quickly as possible once it veers away from their ideology. It’s crazy. There is only room for one way of thinking.

Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to Adams on Twitter.

“Delusional @NYCMayor is trying to intimidate, threaten, and stop me from using my 1st amendment rights to peacefully protest the Democrat’s unconstitutional weaponization of our justice system against our top Republican Presidential candidate, President Trump,” the Republican firebrand wrote on Twitter.

“Mayor Adams should be more concerned about NY citizens and taxpayers being murdered, raped, robbed, and carjacked than an elected Member of Congress coming to town,” she added, repeating a popular right-wing talking point.

“Or should I be the one concerned that the mayor of NYC will weaponize his government or maybe his thugs like DA Alvin Bragg against me?” Greene concluded.

Tuesday is sure to be a crazy day. Trump thrives in chaos and he cashes in on it. I heard on the news Monday night that he has raised more than $7M off of the leak of the news of the indictment. Why isn’t anyone being held accountable for that leak? Grand jury proceedings are supposed to be secret.

On Monday night, Trump posted on Truth Social that D.A. Alvin Bragg should immediately indict himself due to another leak out of his office.

“Wow! District Attorney Bragg just illegally LEAKED the various points, and complete information, on the pathetic Indictment against me,” Trump wrote. “I know the reporter and so, unfortunately, does he. This means that he MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED. Now, if he wants to really clean up his reputation, he will do the honorable thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF.”

We’ll know soon enough what all is in the indictment and if cameras will be allowed to be in the courtroom. News organizations are chomping at the bit for wall-to-wall coverage.
