[Watch their dashboards here. At the time I wrote this, the committed supply from all forms of generation appears to be well ahead of predicted demand. But if it gets close, wind is not going to scale up to meet increased demand. Eighty percent of electricity comes from fossil fuels, and the state needs to add capacity there to deal with shortfalls of wind and solar in these emergency situations. Fossil-fuel generation is scalable with proper capacity built into a grid. — Ed]
