Donald Trump mockingly suggested that he’d be awaiting President Joe Biden’s apology after Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that they would waive dozens of federal laws in order to build a border wall in Texas.
“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Mayorkas said in an announcement posted to the Federal Registry.
Justification for the move involves “high illegal entry” into the United States.
Can anybody remind me who is currently running the country and responsible for said high rates of illegal entry? I don’t recall. NBC News notes a sudden reversal on the part of the Biden administration stating that the move “builds on one of the most controversial cornerstones of the Trump administration.”
