The Enemies of Civilization at Home Are Much More Dangerous Than Our Foreign Adversaries

It is always dangerous to "other" people, and despite my relentless criticism of The Democrats, I do not believe that most Democratic voters are bad people intent on destroying the United States.

I know a lot of Democrats who genuinely believe what they are told. They believed that Trump colluded with Russia, that he said white supremacists were fine people, that the 2016 election was "hacked," that masks prevented COVID, and all the other hoaxes that they are fed.

Ask them about climate change, and they will parrot what they see in the media and hear from Democratic Party politicians. It's not that they are stupid or evil; it's that they trust the wrong people and are disinclined to leave the herd.

Sometimes they do know better but are afraid to stick out, as is the case with alphabet ideology. Malcolm Gladwell's confession that he allowed himself to be bullied into saying men belong in women's sports is a case in point, but I think the problem with most liberals is that they allow opinions to be assigned to them by the cultural elite. They aren't evil; they are herd animals.

But then there are the evil shepherds who are raising the sheep for the slaughter. They aren't intellectually lazy, and they know exactly what they are doing. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the intelligence community knew they were creating the Russia Collusion hoax, and they knew what it would do to the country, and they did it anyway. They seek money and power, and to control Western society.

In our VIP Gold chat, Ed and I briefly discussed the fact that so much of what we have seen over the past decade has been part of a PsyOp intended to upend society. The response to the COVID pandemic was an obvious PsyOp, and in that case, governments actually deployed Psychological Operations units from their militaries and IC members to carry it out. USAID existed mainly to do PsyOps--if you comb through their funding, you will see that they funded most of the "Independent" new organizations in the world, and some very big ones as well, such as the BBC.

This weekend's "Trump is dead" rumor was a PsyOp, aimed not at the populace at large but at left-wing activists to keep them riled up.

All this is a result of what the left calls "The Long March Through the Institutions," a term coined by Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Communist, to describe the Marxist strategy of infiltrating our educational system and cultural institutions to propagate Marxist/Critical Theory in Western Cultures. He and mid-century Marxists understood that the "inevitable" Marxist revolution was not arriving as predicted, so they decided on a strategy to win from within.

If you ever wondered why all our cultural institutions lurched radical left in the past 30 years, it is a result of a conscious plan to take them over. That is not a conspiracy theory--there is an entire literature devoted to this strategy. The most assigned work in education schools these days--the places that train our teachers--is The Pedagogy of the Oppressed, written by Brazilian Communist Paolo Freire

All you need to do is look at the curricula in our K-12 and higher ed institutions to see that Marxist activism is core to their mission. You don't have to trust me--go see for yourself. DEI is Marxism. Critical Theory is Marxism. The Alphabet movement is basically Marxist, as is the pro-Palestinian movement. Antifa is the Marxist brownshirts.

That's how you get classes like this at The New School in Manhattan:

The Democratic Party has fallen under the sway of this movement, which is why it is so committed to the 20 in the 80-20 issues. Its purpose is to "operationalize" the ideology that has been spreading in our cultural and academic institutions, as it has been taken over by the generation that has grown up in this milieu.

Most Democrats would scoff at the notion that their party has become Marxist, and they would be right if they were only speaking about their fellow voters in the suburbs. But all the energy in the Democratic Party is on the radical left, and even institutional Democrats who just want to be in power and don't care much about ideology are kowtowing to the left.

That's why they are all defending illegal alien gang members, defending crime, and pushing radical gender ideology. It is what their radical base demands.

Our cultural institutions are where the enemy within resides. It is the media, academia, the K-12 system, and the permanent bureaucracy where we will find them.

The problem with the ordinary Democrat is that they cannot believe what seems obvious to us: their leaders hate America and want it gone. All the evidence is there--the land acknowledgements, the decarceral agenda, opening the borders, and the "decolonization" rhetoric.

They think it is all talk. These people genuinely believe that all the Democrats want is a slightly bigger welfare state.

We have to train our fire on the real enemy within--delegitimize the cultural elite. Until we do, Democratic voters will, for the most part, continue to trust the elite.
