Are Legos Really Propaganda for 'Heteronormativity?'

And now for something completely different...

According to the UK's Science Museum, Legos are anti-gay and promote gender stereotypes.

Legos, you see, are held together with "innies" and "outies"--in other words, are "male" and "female." Which implies the outie goes into the innie

Lego can be anti-LGBT, the Science Museum has said.

A self-guided museum tour on “stories of queer communities, experiences and identities” includes a display of Lego bricks alongside a guide stating the plastic blocks may reinforce the idea that heterosexuality “is the norm”.

The tour, devised by a Gender and Sexuality Network at the museum, also claims in the “Seeing Things Queerly” guide that Lego adds credence to the view that there are only two genders.

This is because people supposedly describe Lego bricks as having male or female parts that are made to “mate” with each other.

This is “heteronormative”, the guide states, which is the idea that “heterosexuality and the male/female gender binary are the norm and everything that falls outside is unusual”.

The Science Museum guide claims that people think “the top of the brick with sticking out pins is male, the bottom of the brick with holes to receive the pins is female, and the process of the two sides being put together is called mating”.

See?

The Babylon Bee predicted just this sort of criticism back in 2021, because of course they did. Anything absurd that happens appeared first in the Babylon Bee.

Like The Simpsons, The Babylon Bee has an uncanny knack of predicting the future because the future gets more absurd by the day.

The serious part of all this is that the Science Museum, which is part of a national trust in Great Britain, is focused on "Queering" things in the first place. "Queering" isn't so much about sexuality as it is about deconstructing and destroying normality itself. "Queer" is part of the overall critical theory movement whose main goal is to destroy, quite literally, Western society.

That's not an exaggeration. The belief is that our current society is inherently oppressive and must be torn down not to the studs, but leveled entirely and rebuilt along the lines that critical theorists approve. That is why you hear so much about "normativity," which is another way of saying normal.

What is normal is bad. "Heteronormativity" is bad because what isn't normal is "abnormal." This is oppressive in itself.

Of course, heterosexuality IS normal. Even if you believe the 10% are gay figure, that makes 90% NOT gay. Now, being abnormal can be good or bad. Elon Musk is not normal either. I think we can all agree on that, and I happen to think of him as a pretty impressive guy.

This is, of course, all about power. Once you "queer" society, the critical theorists want to reconstruct it along their preferred lines and create a new normal. This isn't about liberation at all.

Go to any university that is filled with critical theorists and you will find an astoundingly oppressive atmosphere.

Critical theory did that.

What better place to push "Queerness" than a science museum? Westerners all admire science and scientists, so science is a perfect thing to deconstruct.

This is the Burge strategy at work.

That is how Legos become oppressive.
