Nice law license you have there. It would be a shame if something happened to it.
Over the past two decades, the Democrats have added a tool in their political toolbox that too few people have noticed. Lawfare against lawyers who work for clients the Democrats want to be destroyed.
A Little Sweet Revenge Against Democrats Threatening to Kill Careers of Trump Lawyers https://t.co/N8kygMDKNJ

Democrats have been at the forefront of a movement to put criminals back on the street and move heaven and earth to ensure that criminals get the best legal advice that money can buy. They are so passionate about this cause that they have worked tirelessly to put "Soros prosecutors" into office.
Mark Elias has made a very good living filing lawsuits for Democrats challenging election results and pulling off slimy dirty tricks like funding the Steele Dossier, misrepresenting his billing as legal expenses as "legal fees." Think of Elias as the scum pumped out of a septic tank, and you are going to be close to the state of his soul.
Since 2021, the Democrats have waged a jihad against lawyers who represented Trump in the legal battles over the 2020 elections, aiming their fire at the lawyers even more than at Donald Trump. The goal is to scare every lawyer tempted to represent a client from doing so.
Everybody deserves legal representation, except MAGAts, as they call us. We belong in solitary confinement.
How serious is this effort? Very. On the eve of the election, a group called The 65 Project is running ads aimed at lawyers, threatening them with disbarment if they represent Donald Trump and Republicans. Even if the disbarment efforts fail, they will tie up the time and money of the targets of this lawfare.
The group isn't kidding around. They are targeting a tiny group of people, and have put what will amount to big money to reach a tiny group.
- The initial ad buy is six-figures and will be followed by additional digital ads and print ads in state bar journals
- The initial ad buy includes AZ, GA, MI, PA, and WI and more states will be added in the next wave
- It will be targeted to be directly seen by current and potential Big Lie Lawyers and conservative law firms
- It will run on programmatic digital display and social media
The group is run by a Mark Elias-connected operative who spends his time filing bogus ethics complaints to tie lawyers up into legal knots. He can do so because harassing lawyers is his practice, funded by prominent liberal donors, while the lawyers he targets are working lawyers who need clients to make a living. This is how the Democrat world operates--the candidates and parties are only a small part of their political operation. They have networks of nonprofits and PACs that fund the shadier operations such as fake voter registrations in Pennsylvania.
America First Legal--a newish conservative legal nonprofit, has been fighting back on the same turf, if much more ethically. They are bringing ethics charges against Michael Teter for breaking the ethics rules for lawyers.
As my PJ Media colleague Victoria Taft reported, America First Legal is hitting him where it hurts.
In the last several years, Teter has made good on his promise, filing nearly 100 ethics complaints against lawyers aligned with President Trump, signing them all himself.
Among these complaints was one against Mr. Passantino. On February 15th, 2023, Teter accused Mr. Passantino of providing deficient representation to Cassidy Hutchinson in front of the January 6 Committee. In the complaint, Teter alleged that Mr. Passantino sought “to obstruct the Select Committee’s inquiry to uncover the full context of the January 6 attack on our nation’s Capitol.” He claimed that AFL’s client breached confidentiality, advised his client to perjure herself, and sought to undermine the administration of justice.
But Teter had no firsthand knowledge of any of the accusations he made, which have now been proven false by the work of the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight. In fact, most of the language in the complaint was boilerplate language used in many of his other complaints. The only allegations that were specific to Mr. Passantino relied entirely on allegations of the January 6 Committee, hearing transcripts, and one CNN news article that relied entirely on anonymous “sources.”
Teter files complaint after complaint using boilerplate language, hoping to tie up lawyers in endless wrangling. While it sometimes works to harm the lawyers directly, the big intent--as you can see with these ads--is to deny Trump legal representation.
Teter and his phalanx of lawyers weaponize the law and rules, and resort to public relations smears to kill the careers of Trump lawyers. They do so through a death-by-a-thousand cuts series of complaints against lawyers for allegedly breaking ethical canons. Complete strangers, from lefty law professors to no-name lawyers, file complaints against Trump lawyers for insurrection-y sounding assaults on democracy.
After 2020, Teter and company pressured states to yank law licenses from former federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, and others. Ken Chesebro just lost his New York law license "right before the election." Leftist attorney Michael Popok said that Chesebro was the "architect of the [2020] fake elector scheme...and likely prime witness against Donald Trump in the DC election interference case."
One commenter on this post said it all. He gloated, "Webster definition of MAGA: Make Attorneys Get Attorneys."
Should Trump win, the lawfare will be off the charts. For all the propaganda that elections are perfect, Elias and company have already been filing lawsuits everywhere they can. Expect that to be the tip of the iceberg. Their goal is to fight these lawsuits with the opposition disarmed.
You may think that we have a lot on the line in this election--and we do. But for Democrats this really is life or death because their entire model for making money, using power, and remaking the world in their image is predicated on owning all the institutions. They fear a Trump victory because they fear that he will dismantle their dangerous and corrupt enterprise.
I hope he wins ant that they are right.
