Alphabet Ideology Is Big Issue in the Race

Not long ago, opposing alphabet ideology was seen as a fringe issue pushed by the Right.

Democrats were running hard to the left, with Drag Queen Story Hour, transgender Pride flags in every classroom, trans surgeries for every person demanding them, and pronoun pushing a human right. No bathroom or locker room was safe from predators, and men were becoming sorority sisters with the blessing of the Democrats.

All those things are still happening, but the slumber of the silent majority has been fading, and a big backlash is developing. It's not just Matt Walsh, J.K. Rowling, and the good people at Hot Air who are shouting from the rooftops that this is insane. Ordinary people are appalled, and the politicians have taken notice.

Republican candidates, from Donald Trump on down, have pounced, seized, or whatever verb you like on Kamala Harris' and many Democrats' extremism on transgender issues, and by all accounts the ads have been working.

While Harris is keeping pretty quiet on the issue, after years of pushing transgenderism, drag queens (she made her first TV campaign appearance on RuPaul's Drag show), and all manner of weird LBBTQ+ issues, the issue has turned out to be a millstone for her and others.

The issue has popped up in Senate races as well, and Democtrats in those races are running scared on the issue.

The problem Democrats have is that this line of attack is not based on exaggerations; there need not be any hyperbole involved in making this line of attack because Democrats have been genuinely extreme, believing that nobody outside the LGBTQ+ community cares, and perhaps believing their own bulls**t that trans issues are the "civil rights issue of our time

Washington — Former President Donald Trump's campaign and his allies have spent tens of millions of dollars on political ads focusing on transgender rights issues in the weeks leading up to the election.

The Trump campaign has spent more than $19 million on two television ads that have aired nearly 55,000 times since Oct. 1, according to data from AdImpact. Make America Great Again Inc., the leading super political action committee supporting Trump, has spent more than $1.1 million during the same time period on a similar ad that has aired more than 6,000 times.

The campaign's ads are playing in all battleground states and airing during NFL and college football games, a Trump campaign official said.

The ads focus on taxpayer-funded gender transitions for people in prison and immigrant detainees. They use Vice President Kamala Harris' comments from 2019 in which she said she supported transgender inmates having access to gender-affirming surgery. She made similar comments in an American Civil Liberties Union questionnaire in 2019, saying she supported "medically necessary care" for federal inmates and detained migrants.

"Kamala is for they/them," one ad says. "Trump is for you."

The accusations are true, and Democrats are freaking out.

Men really are invading locker rooms, undermining competitiveness in women's sports, injuring women on the playing field, and lurking in bathrooms with young girls.

Riley Gaines has risen to stardom because she has had the courage to fight back, and other young women have, after years of fear of retribution, started to join her crusade. The sports authorities are standing their ground, backing men in women's sports, but the American public is becoming alarmed at how far things have gone.

Trans issues may seem to be off topic, and in the grand scheme of things Americans are focused on issues like inflation, crime, and economic growth. But the issue reinforces the perception--the reality--that the Democrats have lost the plot.

"It's the last thing on Earth they want to talk about," co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita told NBC News. "So we'll talk about it for them."

Trump has underscored that on the campaign trail, often repeating a line about "keeping men out of women's sports" — it often gets the most applause at his rallies.

Trump is not the only candidate using the issue to criticize his Democratic rival. The debate over transgender girls in sports and locker rooms is featured in Republican ads in key Senate races.

Biden and Harris have put enormous political capital into pushing trans and queer issues, and it is coming back to bite them in the butt.

Will this issue swing the election? Maybe. Not because it is top of mind for Americans, but because Americans are being reminded how weird and out of touch the Democrats are. They are running the estrogen campaign, including estrogen given to men to make them mimic women.

When the top health official in the nation and the "first female admiral" is a man cosplaying a woman, people take notice and are repelled.

For a long time, I worried that politicians would run away from the issue in competitive states, but instead the Republicans are running towards it and making Democrats defend their actions.

It's about time.
