Just two more weeks until we resume the Hot Air Monday night tradition of me whining to you about how disappointed I am with last night’s episode. Until then, to cleanse the palate, a comic sorbet. The first three minutes here are amusing but nothing you haven’t seen before if you’re a fan of TWD, “Bad Lip Reading,” or both. It’s the last two minutes that have made the clip a viral sensation. If you watch regularly — and especially if you remember the hokey melodrama of that scene where Carl vents to an unconscious Rick — I defy you to tell me the show wouldn’t be better at this point as some sort of silly “Cop Rock”-ish musical drama with “Carl Poppa” dropping occasional beats. No two-minute sequence all last season was as entertaining as this is; it’s the perfect absurdist way to pop the writers’ dramatic balloon. Be sure to listen all the way to the end through the “credits,” too. Quote: “Had to cut my baby sister out my mama.”
Oh, by the way, turns out the zombie apocalypse is real. Somehow we didn’t get around to blogging that this week.
