Zohran Mamdani will be the gift who keeps on giving, at least if you are a Republican.
If you are a Democrat, not so much. It sure looks like he will be a pain in the patootie for them.

It's easy to see why Mamdani won if you can think like a Democrat. He is charming, good-looking, knows how to use social media well, and hits all the right fake empathy erogenous zones for people who emote more than reason. I admit I find him charming, as long as I don't listen to what he actually says, or see videos of what he says when he's not campaigning.
Here we go again — Hakeem Jeffries flips out when asked about Mamdani’s supporters trying to mount a primary challenge against him —

Then rants about Trump:
“I have no idea what these people are talking about! The problem is Donald Trump!"

For decades, the Democrats have been radicalizing our education system to create a cohort of left-wing troops, and in this, they have been too successful. Perhaps they underestimated how turning kids into a cadre of propagandized and ill-informed activists would make them all a bunch of raging radicals who hate the current Democrat establishment.
If you convince people that the government can create a utopia and consistently fail to deliver, the revolution will eat its own. It always does.
Some of Mamdani’s far-left allies want to primary Hakeem Jeffries and other NYC Democratshttps://t.co/T6mE1g8tpD

Mamdani's success in the New York City mayoral primary has energized the socialist/communist wing of the Democratic Party. They are looking to whip out the political guillotine. Not only are the shock troops violently attacking ICE agents, attempting assassinations on figures they don't like, and posting ranting videos about how evil America is on TikTok--they are turning their rhetorical fire on the Democratic Party establishment.
Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries suggests there is room in the Democrat Party for Zohran Mamdani's socialist agenda:

-Higher taxes
-Converting your homes into communes
-Communist price controls
-Taxpayer-funded drug dens
These should be easy things to condemn, instead Democrats… pic.twitter.com/AfVC10F9Th
Democrats created this problem, thinking that only Republicans would be the target of the socialist and communist wings of the party. What they didn't seem to understand is that leftists are different from liberals.
Leftists model their politics on the French Revolution, not Bismarckian social democracy or the Christian Democrats. They aren't interested in a social insurance state; they want to seize the means of production, have state ownership of housing and food distribution, and seize the wealth of the bourgeoisie and upper classes.
The Democratic Party has, if anything, become more establishment--talking tough about banks and hedge funds while cozying up to them. They turned corporate America into a woke wonderland and source of campaign funds, and none of that interests the younger, leftist set they created to buttress their power.
Fresh off being ousted from the DNC, David Hogg scolds the Democrat party with lessons they need to learn from commie Mamdani's primary win:

"Don’t run candidates who suck and be surprised that they lose."
“It’s the economy stupid!" pic.twitter.com/GUGFy5zKH6
Ordinary Americans are, shall we say, skeptical of the leftward lurch, so the trend is poison for Democrats. Worse for the establishment is that they have become the targets of the leftists.
Liberal politicians rarely mean what they say, but the leftists sure do. They are as angry at Democrats as Republicans. Not only do they want an actual civil war with Republicans, but they are happy to have a political civil war in their own party.
