An exclusive to, curiously enough. Drudge seems to be in the tank for Obama; if Breitbart’s going libertartian, that leaves the GOP nominee without a friend at the Report this election year. Gulp.

I’ve asked once before but I’ll ask again: How does Barr hurt McCain? His opposition to the war is front and center here (contra Ron Paul’s ads), making this an appeal aimed squarely at the sort of Paulnut isolationists who were never going to vote for an uberhawk like McCain anyway. They’ll go to the convention, throw their tantrum, and then instead of staying home in November they’ll vote for Barr. They’re a lost cause; who cares if he “finds” them? If anything, maybe he peels away a few votes from Obama among anti-war libertarians otherwise inclined to hold their noses and vote with the statists this year to get the troops out of Iraq.

Even so, the GOP doesn’t want to take any chances. Exit quotation: “Bob Barr will make it marginally easier for Barack Obama to become president. That outcome threatens every libertarian value Barr professes to champion.” Click the image to watch.
