Sheer brilliance, although I think it helps if you don’t know the movie from which this scene was lifted. It’s not that it’ll spoil the surprise — the comic genius of this clip is that there is no surprise, that you know instantly how it’s going to go — but it’s less fun to think of it as a satire on some other flick than as a situation evolving organically between the characters. I was doubled over in laughter the first time I saw it. In fact, it’s so funny, and has exploded so hugely online, that apparently even Warner Bros. is okay with it. Although I’m not sure why: How can anyone fail to be disappointed by the real “Yogi Bear” movie after watching this? Then again, how can anyone fail to be disappointed by the real “Yogi Bear” movie, period?

If John Ford had lived long enough to make westerns starring sub-moronic animated bears, this would be that movie.
