Alternate headline: “Gaffe-prone vice president to visit ‘The View.’ What could go wrong?” As it turns out, a few things could. For one, he was awfully presumptuous about whether China will finally agree to sanctions on Iran, and even if they do, the money question is what, precisely, they’ll agree to. This ain’t the UN’s first Iran rodeo, after all, and the results thus far haven’t been quite what we’ve hoped for. Second, while his warm words for Sarahcuda are welcome, I’m not sure where he got the idea that she said she’s not running. As C4P points out, she suggested something quite to the contrary just the other day. I think he’s probably honestly mistaken, although C4P fans will doubtless think differently.
Two clips for you, the first of his comments on Palin and the second a reflection on what a big f***ing deal his F-bomb gaffe turned out to be. Make sure you watch that one too, as he shares some wisdom about why it’s a bad idea to assume the worst about your opponent’s motives. Which, again, is welcome, especially in the context of praise for Palin, but nonetheless feels somehow diluted by the last thousand left-wing op-eds I’ve read about those racist, violent, neo-confederate Tea Klanners.
