Erin Burnett on Apple: From "it" stock to "sh*t" stock

Once again I find myself rushing to her defense, spurred on by the rule that bears her name. Lots of buzz about this incident this morning, but what’d she really say? No one seems to know for sure, although that didn’t stop Page Six from working up an item hinting that it was an on-air slip and a new “embarrassment” for CNBC on the heels of it her “rich dudes impress me” op-ed. HuffPo duly took the handoff but had to correct itself after Silicon Valley Insider assured them that no, it wasn’t a slip, the whole thing had been scripted and thus apparently blessed by CNBC brass. Who’s right? Thanks to the magic of RedLasso, now it can be told.

Verdict: A cheap, dopey joke, yet somehow … charming and delightful. I can see why Rush digs her.
