Joe Biden’s abrupt conversion to becoming one of the MAGA devils he claims to despise is accelerating. On the heels of determining that he has an “immediate need” to finish building Trump’s border wall, the White House announced last night that deportation flights of illegal Venezuelan migrants would resume imminently. We might be tempted to argue that these flights should be packed with illegal aliens from any country, but I suppose we should be grateful and take whatever we can get out of this crew. But the specific choice to deport only Venezuelans is particularly curious since it’s coming from the same administration that told us only two weeks ago that migrants from that country would be receiving special protected status and work permits because the conditions in their home country “prevent them from returning in safety.” The overnight security improvement in Venezuela has to be one of the most underreported stories in the world aside from Hunter Biden’s tax fraud charges. The Biden administration will resume deporting Venezuelan migrants, the largest single group encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border last month, back to their economically troubled country as their arrivals continue to grow.
U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, speaking in Mexico City Thursday, cited the new measure as one of the “strict consequences” the Biden administration is pairing with the expansion of legal pathways for asylum seekers.
“Our two countries are being challenged by an unprecedented level of migration throughout our hemisphere,” Mayorkas said, referring to Mexico.
The White House obviously realized how hypocritical this would all look, so they sent out Mayorkas to address the Venezuelan situation. His explanation was every bit as lame as you would have expected. He declared, “We have made a determination it is safe to return Venezuelan nationals who arrived in the United States subsequent to July 31 and do not have a legal basis to remain here.”
Really? So anyone who reached the United States and illegally violated our borders From August 1st until now will be safe if they are sent home. But the literal millions of others who set up camp here prior to that are still in danger? Did Nicolas Maduro pass some bizarre form of amnesty that only applies to people who fled in the past two months but nobody bothered to report on it? The nonsense being spewed out of the White House at this point simply beggars belief.
It would be a waste of time to further speculate on the reasons that drove the Biden administration in this direction. The President’s approval rating on the border crisis at this point is slightly lower than the public’s desire to contract an STD and his handlers are beginning to panic. (It shows.) Whether or not these moves will help him with anyone is questionable, however. I was watching a media debate on Rising yesterday between a hardcore liberal socialist and a conservative/libertarian analyst. (It was an excellent debate and I’ll embed it at the end of this article in case you want to check it out.) They both seemed to agree that this move will prove either futile or self-defeating for Biden on both sides of the political aisle.
Conservatives will welcome a small amount of help with the border crisis, but they won’t easily forget that the help is coming from the guy who caused it in the first place. And they will also note that we will only be deporting a handful of the literal millions of illegal aliens that Biden has allowed into the country. It’s not even a bandaid on a wound caused by a chainsaw. Meanwhile, liberals who have been conditioned to preach about how walls and deportations are racist, don’t work, and all the rest will see this as a case of Biden sleeping with the enemy. The small number of people who still claim to support his handling of immigration issues may actually drop further because of this rather than increase.
But how much further into MAGA-land will Biden venture in an effort to salvage his presidency? We’re now hearing about a border wall and deportation flights both beginning in the same week. What’s next? One wag that I follow on Twitter offered a suggestion. Stand by for Biden to oppose preemptive withdrawals from foreign wars without securing all of our own people and our allies first.
After changing his position on the border wall, President Biden is considering changing his policy about withdrawing troops from Afghanistan before evacuating the civilians.

We have truly lived to see interesting times. Will Biden now suddenly become interested in shutting down crime waves and reducing spending and inflation? It would be wonderful to see, but it’s all far too little and far too late. In any event, here’s that segment from Rising that I mentioned above. I think they really hit the nail on the head and offer some clarity as to what’s going on.
