Minneapolis Teacher's Union President Celebrates Attempted Murder

However much you hate the teachers’ unions, it isn’t enough.

That is an evergreen statement, of course. No group in America has done more to harm America’s children than these unions. If you still have a rosy opinion of the average school teacher, you should know that these are the people they choose to represent them to the public.

The latest outrage comes from my neck of the woods, Minneapolis. Marcia Howard, a Minneapolis teacher and president of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Local 59, called the stabbing of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin in prison “shanksgiving,” and called his wounds “aeration.”

She shared her sentiments on her Instagram page, where she shared her thoughts about the ongoing “resistance” to the oppressive society that is stupidly paying her to indoctrinate children in hateful ideology.

Yes, this genius still wears a mask outside in 2023. She should be fired just for being that stupid.

Her followers on Instagram were thrilled with her describing Chauvin as “aerated” but sad that Chauvin survived the assassination attempt, which I suppose is on-brand for the BLM bigots who dominate Left politics these days. This is their version of loving peace and promoting inclusion.

I am well past the point where I can be shocked by anything a public school teacher could say or do. The profession is filled with half-wit bigots whose job it is to propagandize children into hateful ideologies. I know that there are still good teachers left and that they feel responsible for helping students navigate the hellholes we call schools, but at some point, you have to recognize the system is fundamentally corrupt.

In, at least the big cities, it is too broken to save. You have to choose: do you want to be represented by bigots like this? I know some suburban systems are still worth trying to save, but we would all be better off closing the public schools and guaranteeing universal school choice.

If you somehow think that Derek Chauvin had it coming, I commend Alpha News’ excellent documentary The Fall of Minneapolis.  Chauvin got shafted, and his fellow officers got shafted even worse in some sense, as they simply made the mistake of being in the same block as Chauvin at the time.

George Floyd wasn’t murdered. We can debate the tactics Chauvin used (they were, contrary to testimony by the Minneapolis Police Chief, approved tactics taught to Minneapolis officers and could be found in the training manual) and the length of time that Floyd was restrained. But Chauvin was following policy and was the sacrificial lamb to appease the mob.

That a teacher and union president can publicly celebrate attempted murder is appalling but unsurprising. This is who they are.
