Rubio Lays a Thumpin' on the EU

This was such a thing of beauty last night that I cannot believe someone here hasn't beaten me to the story yet.

In the headlines today, I've got a CNN report on the weenies in the United Kingdom - yes, the pencil-necked Starmer - cravenly pulling some of their intelligence sharing from us over a case of twisted knickers.

OUR smoking cartel drug-running boats in the Caribbean coming out of Venezuela is giving THEM a case of the heebie jeebies.

CALL A WAAHMBULANCE

The United Kingdom is no longer sharing intelligence with the US about suspected drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean because it does not want to be complicit in US military strikes and believes the attacks are illegal, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

The UK’s decision marks a significant break from its closest ally and intelligence sharing partner and underscores the growing skepticism over the legality of the US military’s campaign around Latin America.

For years, the UK, which controls a number of territories in the Caribbean where it bases intelligence assets, has helped the US locate vessels suspected of carrying drugs so that the US Coast Guard could interdict them, the sources said. That meant the ships would be stopped, boarded, its crew detained, and drugs seized.

The intelligence was typically sent to Joint Interagency Task Force South, a task force stationed in Florida that includes representatives from a number of partner nations and works to reduce the illicit drug trade.

But shortly after the US began launching lethal strikes against the boats in September, however, the UK grew concerned that the US might use intelligence provided by the British to select targets. British officials believe the US military strikes, which have killed 76 people, violate international law, the sources said. The intelligence pause began over a month ago, they said.

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, had an opinion to share from the Borg collective. She offered it after arriving in Colombia (not exactly US-friendly territory to begin with) that the United States should mind its manners and heed the EU's gentle chidings.

The EU's Kaja Kallas emphasised the need to follow international law on self-defence and UN mandates at the CELAC-EU summit in Colombia, amid continued US strikes on narco-boats.

The EU upholds international law restricting force to self-defence or UN-mandated actions, the bloc's EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said as European and Latin American leaders convened in Colombia amid questions over US military strikes on alleged narco-boats.

The fourth CELAC-EU summit opened in Santa Marta on Thursday, with Kallas addressing US actions in the Caribbean that Washington claims target narcotics trafficking.

"Well, international law is very clear on that. You can use force for two reasons: one is self-defence, the other one is the UN Security Council resolution," Kallas said upon arrival.

I'm sure she sniffed in disgust as she said it.

The French felt safe enough to add to the conversation after that, so they piped up from under a desk on Tuesday.

STOP THAT, YOU YANKEE PIG-DOGS

France is worried about U.S. military operations in the Caribbean because they violate international law, the country's foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Tuesday.
The U.S. military has carried out at least 19 strikes so far against suspected drug vessels in the Caribbean and off the Pacific coasts of Latin America, killing at least 76 people.

They all sound like demented parrots, 'BWAWK! Violate international law! BWAWK!'

The French expressed le concern.

..."We have observed with concern the military operations in the Caribbean region, because they violate international law and because France has a presence in this region through its overseas territories, where more than a million of our compatriots reside," Barrot said on the sidelines of the Group of Seven foreign ministers' summit in Canada.

The Greek repetitive chorus all added up to some brave anonymous reporter making the mistake of asking our Secretary of State what he thought of the EU yesterday. And he said he couldn't give a le rat's patootie about the opinions of a hypocritical collection of whinging, broke, milque toasts.

Marco was magnifique as he laid waste to the continental virtue-signaling performance artists.

"I don't think that the European Union gets to determine what international law is. They CERTAINLY don't get to determine how the United States defends its national security!"

"The United States is under attack from organized, criminal narco-terrorists in our hemisphere - and the president is responding in the DEFENSE of our country."

"I find it INTERESTING all these countries want us to send nuclear-capable Tomahawk missiles to defend Europe. But when the United States positions aircraft carriers in OUR hemisphere, where we live, somehow that's a PROBLEM!"

"So I would say that the United States and this president has made very clear his job is to protect the United States from threats against the United States...and THAT is what he's doing in this operation."

BOOMITY BOOM BOOM

Rubio shut that down like a boss.

I don't see the French crawling back out for at least a week.

Maybe two.
