The threat to German sausages is real

How sauer is their kraut?

After everything the Germans have imposed upon themselves in the past couple of years, you’d think they’d just about be at wits’ end. What’s left to take? The government has shut down their nuclear power plants, ruining their reliable, cheap electrical grid. There’s always the prospect of freezing in the winter as the government will control the thermostat, while wheat and egg prices and utility costs for the ovens have driven bread through the roof.

Your average Herr und Frau have been such good global citizens – duly cutting back on everything from trips to thermostat settings to updating the furnace to help save the earth, as first exhorted and then mandated by the elites running both their own government and the continental unification cabal they allow to dictate their country’s affairs.

The little pleasures in German life have become fewer and farther in between, going collectively by the wayside in the rush to save Mother Gaia from a fate no one can quite quantify.

New data released by the Federal Information Centre for Agriculture in Germany shows that meat consumption per capita decreased by approximately 4.2 kg in 2022, dropping to 52 kg per person, the lowest it has been since the calculations began in 1989. This aligns with previous findings that 55% of Germans consumers describe themselves as flexitarian, the highest level in Europe.

Germany’s declining meat consumption trend has continued over the past few years — a shift reinforced by Health Minister Karl Lauterbach’s call to consume less meat. In 2022, he declared that “we will have to eat much less meat,” adding that “in the long term, we could reduce meat consumption by 80 percent. Not only in Germany, but worldwide, because it is simply very difficult to produce meat without massive CO2 waste.”

“Flexitarians.” Like that’s a “something.” It’s apparently enough of one so much so now, that it’s alright for government officials to sneer at what was once was an integral part of being German – a proud tradition of eating MEAT.

…The German minister also said meat consumption in Germany is “completely unreasonable” in many respects, “bordering on the delusional if you think about it.”

The “Health Minister” who said this is the robust looking fellow in the picture on the left. The fellow on the right is Robert Habeck, head of the current ruling Green Party.

They all look like Bond villains.

I guess Germans sighed and ate a little less meat, or a smaller Weiss Wurst, hoping to placate both their (as pictured) betters haranguing them to do so, as well as their guilty consciences for eating and, God forgive them, enjoying their snausages and such.

And the shared sacrifice was enough. Or so they thought.

A bombshell leaked government memo has exploded on the bratwurst scene and the implications are awful.

All meat, incl white and processed shall be only 10 grams per day, or just one sausage or one steak per month eaten in Germany 🇩🇪. The information came out through a leaked document to Bild newspaper, Germany“s leading boulevard. So it is not official yet, but the leak has not been denied. DGE says that factors that also influence its decision are environmental aspects and expectation that healthy plant based foods will become cheaper if less meat is being produced. Another symptom of the total economic ignorance and incompetence of the circles advocating for plant based foods. If it becomes official DGE policy, then all public food service like hospitals, schools or factory canteens must follow, or they do not receive accreditation anymore: Many Germans will pay with their health for this idiocracy.

Ach du heilige Scheiße, what is THIS?!

Only one sausage per month for everyone!

Wait a minute – we’ve already cut back! We’re all good FLEXITARIANS, remember?!

…The German Nutrition Society (DGE) is planning new guidelines for its food recommendations. And wants to suggest to the German citizens a radical renunciation of meat.

︎ From an explosive internal document on the new “food strategy” (excerpts are available from BILD) it follows: She wants a new maximum limit of just ten grams of meat per day!

That’s not even the equivalent of a whole slice of mortadella (15 grams)! Or to put it another way: there would only be one currywurst per month per citizen!

Ah, the beneficent government. “We would never want to have to completely deny you something,” they say. “We’ll just determine how little is enough.”

..In general, the DGE emphasizes: “Nobody wants to forbid people their occasional currywurst. But overall meat consumption in the population is too high for health and sustainability reasons, that’s a scientific fact.”

You know – The Science™.

Guess there’s no arguing there.

It’s the wurst that could happen.
