Until I read this I was deeply worried that we were all doomed to die in fire because the Earth is literally burning.
But now? I am relieved. The Taliban have joined the climate talks.

The Taliban government has entered its first talks with the United Nations, donors and non-governmental organizations over the impact of climate change in Afghanistan, organizers said Wednesday.
After four decades of war, Afghanistan ranks as one of the countries least prepared to face the effects of climate change, which is spurring extreme weather and warping natural environments.
The Taliban are famously dedicated to Science™, and their records on extreme weather in the region are detailed, going back thousands of years.
For most of those years, Afghanistan has been a garden spot, practically the Garden of Eden itself. But since human beings started burning fossil fuels, it has become less hospitable to human life. It's so bad that people are living medieval lives, and God knows the Taliban want to improve the lives of everybody.
Especially women, who are hit hardest by climate change. Women and minorities are always hardest hit.
The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) co-hosted three days of talks ending Tuesday, country director Terje Watterdal told reporters at a news conference in Kabul.
He said it was the first time Taliban officials “joined a parallel session, face-to-face and online, with a broad range of their counterparts in the West since the change of government in August 2021.”
The talks included universities, diplomats, UN agencies, donors and grassroots members of Afghan society.
All sides agreed that “both individual and collective action is required both inside and outside of Afghanistan,” Watterdal said.
“All government ministries committed their full support for the national and international organizations working to combat climate change and reduce the impact of climate change in Afghanistan.”
One has to wonder what made the Taliban open their eyes to the pressing problem of climate change. Perhaps it is because they have solved the problem of providing a good education for their children, especially the girls. Girls are no longer failing at all in school.
Eco-friendly terrorist attacks with no carbon footprint.

But perhaps not. A clue to why they became suddenly interested in carbon emissions was buried in this story: "Foreign aid to Afghanistan has dwindled since the Taliban takeover in 2021, with donors wary of backing a government considered a pariah, leaving poor and climate-vulnerable communities further exposed."
Foreign aid. Sign onto the climate nonsense, and the world will send you money.
This is all so tedious. I am pretty sure that even if you buy 100% of the climate narrative, Afghanistan is not exactly the most vital country to focus on. Perhaps these "experts" should look a bit east.
But bullying or bribing China isn't so easy, so Afghanistan it is.
These people are clowns.
