The International Criminal Court (ICC) requested arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes last month.
For once, President Biden stood firmly with Israel and Netanyahu against the decision. To say that Joe Biden has been wobbly in his support of Israel in recent weeks is an understatement. Biden is more concerned with getting votes from Muslim Arab Americans in places like Dearborn, Michigan than he is with supporting America's loyal ally, Israel.
Actor George Clooney, a Biden supporter, is married to Amal Clooney, an international human rights lawyer. She worked with the ICC's chief prosecutor Karim Khan and a panel of international legal experts in reviewing evidence of alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Israel and Gaza. The ICC's decision also sought arrest warrants for Hamas officials.
At the time, Amal released a statement to justify conflating Israel with Hamas terrorists.
“We unanimously conclude that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including hostage-taking, murder, and crimes of sexual violence,” Amal, who works as a human rights lawyer, said on Monday.
Amal and the ICC’s panel also determined that there was evidence that Netanyahu and Gallant were also guilty of crimes against humanity that included “starvation as a method of warfare,” “murder,” “persecution,” and “extermination.”
“I support the historic step that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has taken to bring justice to victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine,” Amal said on Monday.
Biden spoke out against this outrageous attack on Israel and Netanyahu.
Biden disagreed. “The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous,” he responded in a statement of his own. “And let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.”
George Clooney reportedly had a little hissy fit over Biden's moral clarity. He called a counselor to Biden to blast him over Biden's words.
The actor was also upset about the administration’s initial openness to imposing sanctions on the ICC because his wife might be subject to the penalties, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private conversation.
Clooney is trying to run interference to protect his wife from her actions. She agreed to work with that panel. She agreed with its findings. She is as responsible as any other member of the panel, even someone married to an award-winning actor. Them's the breaks.
Imagine how self-entitled Georgie must be to just pick up a phone and call the White House to interfere with America's support of the only democracy in the Middle East, our loyal ally. No one ever tells the Hollywood elite no and it shows.
It seems to be a pattern.
Reminds me of the day I owned George at Bball. He threw a tantrum then too. 🏀 https://t.co/Z59T5BxC08

Heh.
This story gets a little awkward because George Clooney is attending a fundraiser for Biden on June 15.
President Biden is set to host a celebrity-filled Los Angeles fundraiser in June — enlisting stars such as George Clooney and Julia Roberts to help him try to make the case for the 81-year-old’s re-election bid.
Former President Barack Obama, Biden’s old boss, also will be a featured guest as well as “other top surrogates and supporters,” a Biden campaign official told The Post.
In addition to their fundraiser appearance, Clooney, 63, and Roberts, 56, will be participating in a “contest” as part of the campaign, which will be blasted out on “social media, digital advertisements, and emails and text messages” to engage grassroots donors, according to the Biden re-election official.
Good times, good times.
