Hey, where is the invitation for the Georgia Bulldogs to visit the White House?

A Georgia Bulldog football player would like to know where the championship team’s invitation to visit the White House is and appealed directly to President Biden on Twitter. Defensive lineman Warren Brinson caused a stir on social media when he questioned the snub.

Good point.

All major sports teams who win national championships traditionally receive an invitation to the White House, even collegiate teams. The president officially congratulates the team and there are photo ops and press availabilities for the players. The team usually presents the president with a jersey. It’s a big deal for them. The tradition was disrupted during the pandemic but those days are over. If the Biden White House can host social gatherings, evenings of entertainment by celebrities, and large holiday gatherings, it is time to allow championship teams their moment of recognition at the White House. Last year’s visit to the White House didn’t happen for the Bulldogs because of the pandemic.

What makes the championship for the University of Georgia Bulldogs special is that it has won back-to-back national championships. When the 2023 season kicks off the team is set to be a top team again. There is talk of Head Coach Kirby Smart building a dynasty. Football is a big deal, especially college football, in southern states. Usually, White House invitations are issued right away. It’s easy to understand the team’s confusion about why they haven’t been invited.

I’ll jump in with a prediction. The Bulldogs will receive an invitation to the Biden White House either today or by the end of the week now that they have been publicly called out for their slight. I’m surprised it didn’t happen as soon as the tweet from Brinson was picked up in the media. The Biden administration never misses an opportunity to show how slow and inept it is when it comes to dealing with everyday Americans. It is always having to play clean-up and catch-up. Biden traveled to Kyiv, a war zone where American troops are not present before he visited a small community in Ohio dealing with a train derailment and the chemical spills it created. Mayor Pete hasn’t even gone to East Palestine. I heard him say to a reporter that he was going to take some personal time. Excuse me? Cabinet secretaries don’t get personal time during emergencies, or at least they didn’t before the Biden administration came into power. Buttigieg is clueless.

Joe Biden loves to tell stories about his college days and playing sports. It seems like the Bulldogs would be a priority on the guest list. And it’s Georgia. The Biden White House is the most political White House since the Obama White House. Not a move is made without looking at the political ramifications. Democrats want to turn Georgia into a blue state and since taking office, Team Biden has visited Georgia and spotlighted the state at every opportunity. A bipartisan group of lawmakers sent a letter to the White House requesting it extend an invitation to the Bulldogs for a visit.

U.S. Rep. Earl LeRoy “Buddy” Carter as well as Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock signed a request for the reigning champions to be hosted at the White House.

In the letter, they highlighted the Bulldogs’ impressive 2022 season.

“The Georgia Bulldogs, led by Head Coach Kirby Smart, completed a historic season in which they accomplished a 15-0 record and won their second National Championship in the same number of years. The 2022-2023 team allowed an average of 14.2 points per game while scoring an incredible 41 points per game.”

Time is of the essence now. It was noted that once spring training begins, the coach will not allow any celebrations.

“It is our hope that this repeat championship team can join the many teams prior that have been honored by the President,” wrote the bipartisan group.

Now some strategists say it’s time to turn up the pressure. Republican operative Brian Robinson, a rabid Georgia fan, said it would be smart politics for Democratic Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock to again publicly call for a White House reception for the Bulldogs after earlier signing onto the delegation letter.

“And soon,” he added. “Once spring practice starts, Coach Kirby Smart won’t allow more celebrations.”

Other college teams have missed out on visiting the White House, too.

Biden tweeted last April shortly after the end of the NCAA basketball tournament that he looked forward to hosting the two winning teams at the White House.

But it appears that neither the Kansas Jayhawks men’s team, nor the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s squad, have made it to Washington yet, either.

Celebrations don’t always happen within a month of victory, though. The Braves’ White House party came nearly a year after their World Series win in 2021.

The Biden White House needs to step up its game. The president has plenty of time to take 40% of his time off and go to his mansions in Delaware or Camp David, he has time to meet with some college kids. Is he afraid Herschel Walker will show up? Heh. I kid. Kinda.
