How many more of these events are we going to witness? The terrorist group ISIS today released another video indicating that yet another westerner has been beheaded by these animals. This time the alleged victim has been identified as British aid worker Alan Henning.

A short video released by ISIS on Friday shows the apparent beheading of British aid worker Alan Henning. In the same video, the terror group threatened the life of an American aid worker.

A taxi driver from near Manchester, England, Alan Henning was part of a team of volunteers that traveled to Syria in December to deliver food and water to people affected by the Middle Eastern country’s devastating civil war. He was abducted the day after Christmas by masked gunmen, according to other people in the aid convoy.

The pattern is essentially identical to previous incidents. There were threats that this might happen and Henning’s family released pleas to the terrorist to spare his life. The pleas appear to have once again fallen on deaf ears, and the victim was paraded before the camera to read a statement threatening the west for their opposition to ISIS.

“I am Alan Henning. Because of our Parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic State [ISIS], I, as a member of the British public, will now pay the price for that decision,” Henning says in the video, before his apparent executioner speaks.

“The blood of [fellow slain captive] David Haines was on your hands, [British Prime Minister David] Cameron,” the black clad militant says. “Alan Henning will also be slaughtered but his blood is on the hands of the British Parliament.”

At the end of the video another captive – American aid worker, Peter Kassig – is also shown, indicating that he will be the next to go.

Nothing we’ve done thus far seems to be slowing these terrorists down. In fact, beyond what I’ve already suggested here, there doesn’t seem to be much more to say. ISIS needs to be exterminated, and while it may be highly unpopular in some corners, we’re going to have to commit the resources to do the job, along with whoever else is willing to help us in this cause. Degrading them or destroying them as an organization won’t do it. Cutting off their bank accounts will not finish the task. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t pursue those courses of action as well, but it’s not going to be enough. These creatures have to be eliminated like rabid animals loose in the neighborhood. And they will have to be fought face to face at some point. The longer we put that day off, the more innocent people are going to die.

Their new media spokesmodel can look very brave when when facing only a video camera and a bound, unarmed hostage. Their “fighters” can look valiant when capturing women and children and crucifying helpless prisoners. I’d like to see how brave they are when they run up against The Big Red One person to person.
