Ghost Of Kamala’s Campaign Crawls Out Of Cave For One More Zinger for Historical Botch Job

roonsThe last vestige of Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign reared its head Tuesday in an attempt to belittle President Donald Trump’s hosting of a state visit from Britain’s King Charles III, only to be subjected to internet mockery.

As the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps performed on the White House‘s South Lawn, the X account @HQNewsNow (Headquarters) — formerly @KamalaHQ, the Harris campaign’s rapid response account — posted an image of the service member band, declaring, “There are currently Redcoats on the White House lawn to welcome the King of England.”

The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps members have distinct, Revolutionary War-era, red uniforms — but are not the same as those of the infamous British Redcoats.

“The musicians of this unit recall the days of the American Revolution as they perform in uniforms patterned after those worn by the musicians of General George Washington’s Continental Army,” the official website for the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps explains. “Military musicians of the period wore the reverse colors of the regiments to which they were assigned. The uniforms worn by the members of the Corps are dated circa 1784, and consist of black tricorn hats, white wigs, waistcoats, colonial coveralls, and distinct red regimental coats.”
