NY Post story on it here and they've got more videos, too.

Two girls were miraculously rescued after they were found clinging to a tree nearly 30 feet high, three days after flash floods killed at least 80 people across Texas, according to local reports.

The pair was found in Comfort, Texas in Kendall County, more than 15 miles outside of Kerrville where 59 people died in Friday’s flood at the Guadalupe River. They’d been hanging onto the tree for more than a day, Cord Shiflet, an Austin man helping clear out debris, said on Facebook

These blessed miracles are what keeps everyone going.

Thank you, Lord, and may there be more.

Beege UPDATE: What in the actual FURK?! God DAMN this pisses me off. Everyone double checked this with supposedly 'reliable sources.'

Texas Rep. Chip Roy revealed Sunday that the supposedly harrowing tale of survival of two girls who clung to a tree until they were rescued from the floods was a false report.

“The story of rescues in Kendall County was NOT true,” Roy posted on X.

The inaccurate account was first shared on Facebook by Cord Shiflet, an Austin man helping clear out debris.

He alleged two girls were found clinging to a tree 30-feet up in Comfort, Texas in Kendall County, more than 15 miles outside of Kerrville where 59 people died in Friday’s flood at the Guadalupe River.

I can only think that even the major news network wanted good news.
