Cuba Locking Up Journalists Under New Law Banning 'Independent' Journalism

On Friday, October 4, a new law passed down by the Cuban Communist Party banning all independent journalism went into effect, and the Castro dictatorship quickly went into action. Independent journalists are being threatened by the Cuban regime with physical violence and prison if they continue to report the truth.

A Cuban independent journalist who first reported on an anti-government protest was sent to prison and others have been pressured to stop their journalistic work as a new social-communication law banning independent media outlets went into effect Friday in Cuba.
