The man accused of being the main plotter in al-Qaeda’s Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has agreed to plead guilty, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two accomplices in the attack are expected to enter the pleas at the military commission at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as soon as next week.
Hmm. I wonder if Biden wants to close Gitmo before he leaves office. If the inmates agree to enter guilty pleas, the White House could transfer them to super-max facilities in the US. Or will KSM get some other consideration?
UPDATE: Looks like they're pleading out to avoid the death penalty. I guess martyrdom ain't what it used to be.
