Carabinieri, State and finance police on Tuesday staged a huge operation in Cosenza and in other Italian cities targetting the Calabria-based 'Ndrangheta mafia.
    

In total 142 suspects were hit by the operation, with most arrested and taken to jail.
    

Twenty of the suspects were put under house arrest while 12 are obliged to live in a certain area and sign in regularly with the authorities.
    

One of the suspects is a finance police officer who has been suspended.
