Some 501 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Israel on Monday, the highest number of cases in a day in recent months, according to a Tuesday morning update by the Health Ministry. Of those infected, 33 were in serious condition, with 16 patients on ventilators. Over half of the patients hospitalized as of Tuesday morning were vaccinated. The death toll stood at 6,429.
