A Quinnipiac poll taken after the violence at the Capitol found that, among Republicans, 71 percent approve of Trump’s job performance and 73 percent believe he is protecting, not undermining, democracy. Among voters overall, 60 percent disapprove of his performance, and 60 percent saying he’s undermining, not protecting, democracy.
