No other state save Texas has produced as many presidential nominees as our commonwealth has. Alas, since John Kennedy in 1960, ours soar in primaries but crash in finals (Mitt Romney last year, John Kerry in 2004 and Michael Dukakis in 1988). Or they crash in the primaries: Ted Kennedy in 1980 and Paul Tsongas in 1992.

Now, just nine months from Election 2012, we’ve already got three possible local White House contenders. That triples our chances for success.

And Warren’s chances look terrific.

Google Elizabeth Warren for 2016. There are 27 pages of breathless stories about her as the go-to candidate if Hillary Clinton doesn’t run — and even if Hillary does.
