Ed: This is as despicable as it is pointless.

“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country,” Bondi told host Maria Bartiromo.

Bondi explained that there is a “dedicated task force” handling the wave of vandalism and attacks on Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and their owners.

“These are not isolated incidents, as you know,” she added, noting that the three people arrested in connection with attacks will face “swift and severe consequences.”

Ed: Unfortunately, this is something of an empty threat. As a sitting member of the House, Crockett is covered under the Speech and Debate Clause while Congress is in formal session. The Department of Justice won't be able to do much about this, even if Crockett openly calls for violent action, at least unless she does that during a formal session recess.

===

Ed: If the roles were reversed here, the media would be SCREAMING over Republican threats of violence. Jasmine Crockett is a disturbed individual, who is egging on violent activists on the Left while only barely pretending to keep her hands clean.

===

Ed: Again, it doesn't really matter, since the House is the only institution that can hold Crockett accountable apart from her own voters. It is possible, though, that the House Ethics Committee might investigate her remarks, perhaps especially the comment about Sen. Ted Cruz, as conduct unbecoming, so to speak.

I don’t mean to pooh-pooh the reporting of the folks over at NBC News, but Friday they published a widely discussed story that I think is 99 percent nonsense ...

The NBC headline was, “The Bidens Want Back In.” Jill Biden may want back in, but the rest of the Democratic Party doesn’t have much interest in letting them back in. And Joe Biden’s been so hidden from public view since leaving office, it’s hard to buy that he’s just itching to step back into the spotlight.

Ed: Jim Geraghty diagnoses this perfectly. Joe isn't itching to get back in the game, but Jill wants to reinflate the Biden Inc family business model. It's as absurd as the idea that Joe is working on his memoirs. Someone's working on a book, but it's not the aphasiac who had trouble remembering key dates of his own life and career when being questioned by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Ed: Good. Let's find out who's funding these domestic terrorists.

Return to work was a key priority for President Donald Trump‘s administration and the local officials in Washington, but as workers returned to the office, there have been many complications — one being the state of the offices they returned to.

IRS employees told the Washington Post that their offices were ill-prepared for the number of people reporting for work and that the internal network was unreliable.

“They have people in conference rooms, cafeterias, and even some closets,” an IRS employee said.

Ed: Cry me a river. In the first place, those workers should have returned three years ago. In the second place, we were spending the same money or more on these offices than before the pandemic; why were they not properly maintained? And it has been five months since the election, so these agencies had plenty of time to get ahead of the curve and fix these problems.

"everything is on the table. Impeachment is an extraordinary measure. We're looking at all the alternatives that we have to address this problem. Activist judges are a serious threat to our system. It has increased in number. It has increased in intensity ...

"we're going to have hearings to highlight the abuses. I suspect that we may wind up questioning some of these judges themselves, to have them defend their actions, and then we'll see about limiting the scope of federal injunctions"

Ed: This is the smart approach. Impeachment is a dead end no matter what. Why not push forward with legislation that has a lower threshold for passage and could actually address the issue of jurisdictional control?

But in the 21st Century an amazing thing happened to the media. Even as they mouthed their cliches about “speaking truth to power,” America’s corporate media began to openly revel at their participation in the power structure alongside their classmates and elites in the increasingly dominant managerial class. They became the willful tip of the spear for Deep State censorship and misinformation operations against populist challenges.

The Chicago political world was all about accountability not to the people, but to their fellow warlords. But the New York Times was accountable to no one.

Because of its dominant position in corporate journalism, the New York Times has never been held accountable. It leverages corporate media but has never taken responsibility for misinformation and malfeasance. The newspaper’s lies have been rewarded with dominant market position and those Pulitzer Prizes based on lies were wrapped adulation based on fear.

Ed: This is a fun column from John Kass, who is now writing independently. Andrew Malcolm and I discuss this in our next TEMS podcast. Kass is reacting to this story from the NYT claiming to have been "misled" on COVID-19's origin. He is well worth reading in entirety on this point, and well worth bookmarking, too.

Ed: Fun fact -- you don't have to actually touch someone to commit assault, or assault with a deadly weapon. Threatening violence is assault; actual violence is both assault and battery. Florida Man is about to discover this, and in that state, he might wish for an FBI intervention.
