Looks like we can expect a presidential-primary flood on the morning TV shows today, with almost all of the GOP candidates making the rounds. Mitt Romney’s first Sunday appearance in more than a year won’t come for another week, though:
GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has booked his first Sunday talk-show appearance in more than a year: on “Fox News Sunday” December 18.
The former Massachusetts governor will talk with host Chris Wallace about the upcoming Iowa caucus and the GOP race to supplant Barack Obama, the network announced.
Romney has not appeared on a Sunday talk show since announcing his intention to run for the presidency. It also continues his string of Fox-only appearances.
Otherwise, everyone else will be on board — except Newt Gingrich, who seems to be taking the morning off:
- Fox News Sunday – Gov. Rick Perry, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell
- NBC’s Meet The Press – Rep. Ron Paul, Sens. Dick Durbin and Lindsey Graham, IA Gov. Terry Branstad
- CBS’ Face the Nation – Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rep. Steve King
- ABC’s This Week – Ambassador Jon Huntsman
- CNN’s State of the Union – Sen. Rick Santorum, Reps. Bob Walker of Pennsylvania and Tom Davis, Anita Dunn, Gov. John Sununu, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe
I suspect that most of these appearances will be extensions of last night’s spin room banter, except for Huntsman, who got left out in the cold, which would have been quite literal had Huntsman actually been in Iowa yesterday.
Update: Wow, I completely missed the fact that Gingrich wasn’t on the list. I updated the post accordingly.
Update II: And McConnell is the minority leader. Sheesh. Never post this early on Sunday without at least one cup of coffee.
