Breaking: Fleebagger coalition falling apart? Update: Majority leader says no changes

Have the fleeing Wisconsin state Senators had enough of life on the lam?  Fox Nation reports that “dissension in the ranks” has arisen, thanks to the financial pressure levied by Walker in stopping direct deposit, as well as the difficulties of pregnancy:

Fox Nation has learned exclusively from a highly placed source within Wisconsin state politics that the fourteen AWOL Democrats are experiencing “dissension in the ranks.” State Sen. Julie Lassa (D) is pregnant and “extremely unhappy” about being on the run. State Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D) has been hit particularly hard by his paycheck being withheld. Wisconsin State Senate leadership is currently negotiating with eight of the fourteen to come home.

Walker has already announced a 5 pm deadline today on sending out layoff notices.  Fox hears that a deal may be announced shortly before that will bring enough Democrats back to give the Senate a quorum.  Does that mean Walker is prepared to abandon the current bill, or that he will merely ask the Senate to allow amendments to the proposal before a full vote?

Stay tuned.  We’ll update as details arise.

Update: The Journal-Sentinel says a meeting took place with Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and “some Democrats” not including Minority Leader Mark Miller, but that Fitzgerald more or less told them to get back to work:

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) met in Kenosha with some Democrats for an hour or two, said Fitzgerald spokesman Andrew Welhouse. He declined to say how many he met with or who they were, other than to say Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona) was not among them.

Fitzgerald was clear with Democrats he would not negotiate with them on the bill and would not allow the bill to be amended now that it has passed the GOP-controlled Assembly, Welhouse said.
