I’ve looked around for embeddable live video for today’s rally in Washington DC, organized by my good friends at FreedomWorks, but the best I can find so far on line is a live broadcast from C-SPAN. However, Melissa Clouthier says she will try to bring it live from her Ustream channel via her cell phone, and since we’re all New Media here, why not? Hopefully, Melissa’s cell phone holds a charge, since the rally begins in 15 minutes and is expected to last a while. However we get a chance to see it, let’s open a thread for it today:
Also, be sure to read the Boss Emeritus today on the 9/12 shame. Nine years after the 9/11 attacks, we still have yet to see any construction on the site at Ground Zero. How long does it take to build something? Michelle gives us a few examples:
It took just 410 days to build the quarter-mile-high, 102-story Empire State Building.
It took just 33 months to build Oriole Park at Baltimore’s Camden Yards.
It took just 2 years to build Qwest Field for the Seattle Seahawks. …
It took just 66 days — several months ahead of schedule — to rebuild two major Santa Monica Freeway bridges in the heart of Los Angeles that were decimated by the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
Nine years and counting, and we still have nothing but two gaping holes in the ground in lower Manhattan.
